What’s New Version 1.2
Display refinements for the multilingual Bible: when Latin is shown as a second or third language it now matches the size of the other translations, for a cleaner parallel reading. Plus small fixes.
Description
Verbum teaches ecclesiastical (Church) Latin from the texts themselves — the Vulgate, the traditional prayers and hymns, and the Fathers of the Church — rather than from invented sentences.
Read the sources. The entire Latin Bible (Clementine Vulgate) sits side by side with the Douay-Rheims English. Tap any word in any text to see its meaning, hear it in correct Roman pronunciation, and save it straight to your flashcards.
Learn it for good. Spaced-repetition flashcards (3,000 words), conjugation and parsing drills for 1,010 verbs, listening and translation exercises, and 41 plain-English grammar articles.
A guided path. Begin at your level and follow an ordered journey — a grammar point, a few words, a short reading, and a test — that unlocks lesson by lesson.
The whole tradition. 37 traditional prayers, 20 hymns in parallel translation, and famous passages from twelve Fathers and Doctors — Augustine, Ambrose, Jerome, Leo, Gregory, Benedict, Anselm, Aquinas, Bonaventure and more — every Latin text verbatim from a verifiable public-domain source.
Rooted in the day. A traditional liturgical calendar shows the season, its colour, and today's feast; a verse of the day; a home-screen widget; and gentle daily reminders.
