What’s New Version 1.4.0

This update grew out of 18 days of my own tracking. The 202 records and 146.8 hours look like numbers at first, but the more interesting part is the shape underneath: workouts showed up almost every day, often pulling the body back in the morning and afternoon; language study kept returning like a thread that did not break; coding took the most time and often stretched from afternoon into evening; late-night records slowly shifted toward journaling, writing, and a little study, like a way of closing the day. What moved me most was the switching. Language study often led into coding. Workouts and reading kept trading places. Many days passed through six to nine different activities, and the gap between two records was often only about twenty minutes. A day is not one solid block of work or rest; it is a series of small turns. DailyTrace 1.4.0 refines Apple Watch, widgets, share images, and chart stability so those turns are easier to capture while they are happening. When you look back, you see more than a stack of hours: you see what held you steady, what carried you into the night, and how a period of life was actually lived. Compared with the previous version: - Added: an Apple Watch Smart Stack status entry for checking the current timer and returning to the Watch app faster. - Improved: Apple Watch and widget status refreshes while a record is running. - Improved: share image branding, date ranges, title hierarchy, activity colors, labels, and spacing. - Improved: week, month, year, and summary share images for a more stable visual result when saving or sharing. - Fixed: edge cases where unusual data or layout conditions could cause invalid chart sizes or unstable share previews.

Description

DailyTrace is a simple time journal for real life. Tap an activity when you start doing it. Switch when your day changes. Stop when you are done. Over time, those small records turn into a clear view of your days: timelines, weekly patterns, monthly heatmaps, yearly history, and shareable summaries. DailyTrace is built for people who want to notice where their time goes without turning life into a task list or a productivity score. Empty time stays empty. Recorded time stays tied to what you actually did. What you can do: Record activities in one tap Start, stop, and switch activities from a quiet, everyday interface. Use widgets Start, check, or stop the current timer from the Home Screen. Lock Screen widgets make it easy to get back to the app. Follow active timers Live Activities and the Dynamic Island show the current activity and elapsed time while a timer is running. Review your day See each record on a 24-hour timeline, with summaries and record details kept together. Look back by week, month, and year Use charts and heatmaps to see daily rhythm, monthly patterns, and the past 365 days. Make it yours Create activities with your own names and colors. Add past records, adjust times, change activities, and add notes when needed. Share or export Create clean summary images for your reviews, or export your data as CSV for safekeeping. Local by default DailyTrace does not require an account. Your activities, notes, and time records stay on your device. DailyTrace is for keeping a factual record of your time, then looking back without judgment.

Build 887650931v1.3.02026-07-01 04:38:02
DailyTrace 1.3.0 brings richer stats and more polished share images. I also tested the new stats with my own records: over the past 11 days, I logged 71.3 hours, including 25 hours of Vibe Coding, 13.1 hours of working out, and 12.3 hours of French. Seeing it laid out like that made the pattern pretty clear: I have been coding a lot lately, while still trying to keep exercise and language learning in the mix. Special thanks to Trixie Dai for all the feedback and encouragement, and to Wei Dai for many late-night conversations about AI. - Explore clearer weekly, monthly, yearly, and summary stats with refined charts and visual hierarchy. - Review activity timing with improved flow charts, heatmaps, Focus Flow, Activity Mix, and recent rhythm views. - Preview share images in a swipeable carousel, then share or save the current image directly. - Export more complete week, month, year, and summary posters with cleaner typography, spacing, and alignment. - Enjoy faster Home and Stats loading, smoother scrolling, and refined interface details across the app.
Build 887455637v1.2.02026-06-26 14:29:58
DailyTrace 1.2.0 adds Apple Watch support and clearer active-recording reminders. - Start, stop, and switch activities from the new Apple Watch app. - Follow your current recording with Live Activities and the Dynamic Island. - Glance at your active timer from the Lock Screen Live Activity. - Enjoy improved state sync between the app, widgets, Apple Watch, and Live Activities. - Export activities and time records as one easier-to-save CSV file. - Add records directly from an activity's Recent Records section.
Build 887145318v1.1.02026-06-23 08:05:43
DailyTrace 1.1.0 adds faster ways to record and share your day. - Start, switch, or stop your current recording from Home Screen widgets. - Glance at your current recording from Lock Screen widgets. - Follow your active timer with Live Activities and the Dynamic Island. - Create clean share images from day, week, month, and past-365-day reviews. - Enjoy faster local loading, refined interface details, improved localization, dark mode, and accessibility support.
