Description
Can I Eat AI Food Scan Diet helps you review everyday meals with more dietary context.
The AI food scanner and detailed analysis require a Can I Eat Pro subscription after any trial.
Point your camera at food, choose a photo from your album, or type a meal, snack, ingredient, brand, package, barcode, or nutrition label. The app recognizes visible food information and compares it with the dietary focus areas you choose, then gives practical dietary risk reminders, reasons, and safer next steps.
Use it for:
- Restaurant meals, takeout, street food, snacks, desserts, drinks, packaged food, menus, ingredient lists, barcodes, and nutrition facts
- Food photo recognition when you want a quick second look
- Manual food input when the camera angle, lighting, language, or package image is unclear
- Daily dietary reminders for allergies, nutrition, pregnancy, glucose control, uric acid, gout flare, blood pressure, blood lipids, fatty liver, kidney-related diet limits, reflux, gastritis, sensitive gut, and weight management
Dietary focus reminders:
- Pregnancy: surfaces common caution points such as raw food, undercooked seafood, uncertain ingredients, and meals where preparation should be confirmed
- Glucose control: surfaces sugary drinks, desserts, refined carbohydrates, high-GI foods, and large staple-food loads for daily reference
- Blood pressure: surfaces salty sauces, heavy seasoning, processed meat, packaged snacks, and high-sodium nutrition labels
- Uric acid and gout flare: surfaces alcohol, organ meat, rich meat soup, high-purine seafood, and choices that may call for extra caution during a flare
- Blood lipids and fatty liver: reminds you about fried food, processed meat, sugary drinks, desserts, alcohol, and high-fat meals
- Kidney-related diet limits: focuses on common sodium and heavy-seasoning risks while reminding you to follow clinician-provided limits first
- Reflux, gastritis, ulcer, sensitive gut, or diarrhea: surfaces spicy, greasy, cold, raw, dairy, alcohol, and irritating foods
- Weight management: helps spot sweet, fried, refined-carb, and high-calorie choices where portion and frequency matter
Allergy reminders:
Add common food allergies such as peanut, tree nuts, milk or dairy, egg, fish, shellfish, soy, wheat/gluten, and sesame. When a recognized ingredient may match your allergy profile, allergy risk is prioritized so you can pause, confirm the full ingredient list, and choose a clearly safer alternative when needed.
What the result shows:
- Overall dietary reminder for the meal or food item
- Recognized foods, possible ingredients, and item-level risks
- Confidence and recognition details when available
- Reasons behind each reminder, not just a yes-or-no answer
- Safer ways to eat, such as confirming preparation, reducing portion size, choosing a clearer alternative, or pausing when risk is uncertain
- Manual correction if the recognition result is not the food you meant
Privacy and data:
Your selected health profile is stored on your device and submitted anonymously only when needed for analysis. Food photos or text are used to generate your result and may be processed by backend AI providers, including OpenAI-compatible model services and, depending on deployment configuration, Anthropic Claude or Google Gemini. Image storage and model processing are described in the Privacy Policy. The current version does not require account registration.
Important:
Can I Eat provides dietary risk reminders and general health information only. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, emergency advice, allergy clearance, nutrition therapy, or personalized medical decisions. If you have a serious allergy, pregnancy-related concern, kidney disease, diabetes, gout, or clinician-provided dietary restrictions, always follow professional medical advice first.
