Description
The scales every jazz musician should know, drawn and played.
Most scale apps are exhaustive — every mode of every key, every exotic scale from every tradition, presented as a database to scroll through. Jazzlore Scales is the opposite: a focused reference for the scales that actually get played over jazz changes. Dorian, mixolydian, melodic minor, the bebop scales, the altered scale, the symmetric scales — the vocabulary you need at your fingertips when you're soloing or comping.
- Which scale, which chord. Every scale shows the chord context where it lives. Look up the scale to find the chord; look up the chord to find the scale.
- Audio for every scale. Hear it played cleanly, in a register that lets you sing it back. Internalize the sound, not just the spelling.
- Staff notation. See the scale written out, not just named. Reading the intervals matters.
- Clean, distraction-free interface. Large, legible, dark by default. Made to sit on top of the piano while you work.
No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. Open the app, look up the scale, hear it, close the app, go practice.
Part of the Jazzlore family of jazz reference apps. Free, open source, ad-free, made for musicians.
