MeanWeather is a premium weather app with a 3-day free trial, then £5.99/year. All features are included in a single subscription. Firstly, I built the app on my own, as I was bored of checking multiple weather apps only to get completely different forecasts! MeanWeather averages data from multiple reliable sources to give you one accurate, simplified weather picture of your day. My main build idea apart from the weather design, is privacy. We shouldn't need to tell any app about ourselves! Key Features: UV REALITY TEMPERATURE: Not just the standard air temperature. MeanWeather factors in UV intensity, wind, and humidity to show how hot it will actually feel when you are out in the sun. RAIN JACKET ADVICE: No confusing percentages or jargon. Just a straight answer: leave it, pack it, wear it, or prepare to get soaked! UV BURN TIME CALCULATOR: Based on your specific skin type, MeanWeather calculates roughly how long it will take before your skin risks burning in current conditions. DOG PAW SAFETY: Pavement heats up far faster than air temperature in direct sun. MeanWeather tracks pavement heat throughout the day so you know exactly when it is safe to walk your dog, with breed categories, senior dog adjustments and safe walk time windows. LIVE TIDAL DATA: Real-time tide charts for UK coastal locations, powered by Admiralty data from 607 stations. Shows current tide state, next high and low water times & tide swing. Appears automatically when you are within 25km of the UK coast. MOON PHASE: Custom drawn moon phase card with days to next full and new moon, tonight's sunset time, and spring tide warnings when the lunar cycle affects tidal range. UK BEACH INFO: Now covering 243 UK dog beaches across 27 counties in England, Wales and Scotland. See live dog-restriction rules from local councils, verified from official council PSPOs. If a seasonal ban ends at 7:00 PM, your beach card turns green at 7:01 PM! MORNING BRIEFING: Daily 8am notification with peak temperature, UV level and sunset time. Dog owners receive a combined briefing with pavement safety and walk timing advice. SMART LOCATIONS: Save home, work, holiday destinations, or custom places. Set a duration for holiday locations so they auto-delete when you get back — no manual tidying required. HOME SCREEN WIDGET: Get crucial, glanceable weather updates automatically, right on your home screen. 10-DAY OUTLOOK: A full 10-day forecast at a glance, with weather symbols and temperature ranges for each day. Days 1–7 use high-confidence model data; days 8–10 are shown at reduced opacity as estimated forecasts only. 100% PRIVATE: No personal data is ever collected, tracked, or stored.
