Fishmarks is the ultimate waypoint management solution, and Fishmarks Connect (this app) is the unrivaled companion to the web app. This app allows you to view and edit your waypoints on the water and then wirelessly synchronize them with your master library. It also turns your phone into a GPS plotter for fishing — save spots, log catches, plan trips, share waypoints with friends, reference radio safety information, check the weather, and know the tide before you leave the dock.

Send a list as a "copy" — Give a friend their own independent copy of a list (or any selection of marks). It lands in a new list on their end, named after yours, with no ongoing sync — your later changes won't affect their copy.
Accept shares right on your phone — Incoming list invitations and marks people send you now appear in your Notifications bell. Accept or decline a shared list, or a copy of marks, without switching to the website.

Float Plans — a USCG-style safety document for your trip. Build a plan with vessel details, people onboard, planned spots, and emergency contacts, then send it to one or more "holders" on land. If you don't check in by your expected return time, holders get an escalation email so help can reach you. Free for every tier — this is a real safety tool, not a paid feature. Build from a recent trip or start fresh, edit and activate from your phone, and add holders mid-flight.
Quick Catch — a streamlined sheet for fast on-the-water catch logging, accessible from the More+ menu. Species, length and weight with built-in rulers, paired photo buttons, optional notes. Designed for one-handed use while the fish is still in the boat.
Marquee + lasso multi-select on the map — drag a rectangle or freehand-trace a shape to select multiple marks at once, including everything inside touched clusters. Then run bulk actions: Add to List, Send to Friend, Export GPX, Symbol Mapping, Rename with {n} sequencing, Bulk Tag, or Delete. Bulk operations now batch their database calls in parallel — a 78-mark update that used to take half a minute finishes in seconds.
Offshore reliability — edits and waypoint changes are queued locally if your connection drops, and auto-drain when you're back in range. Writes fast-fail instead of hanging the UI, photo loading times out cleanly, and stale sessions hold open offshore instead of silently signing you out and clearing your cache.
Collapsible map toolbars — both edge toolbars fold to thin chevron tabs with group labels (LAYERS / TOOLS / ZOOM on the right, MARKS on the left). Pin them open if you want, or let them auto-collapse to give the map full screen width. New users get pinned by default.
Plus distance-from-current-location on the mark detail, "More from us" links in About, keyboard-aware sheet sizing across the app, and dozens of small UI consistency fixes.
