What’s New Version 1.7

Trips & planning Destination days that stick — Nights and days for each city in a multi-stop trip now save and reload correctly across the planner, trip hub, and timeline. Smoother route edits — Adding, reordering, or appending destinations keeps the timeline and country flags in sync without losing your layout. Badge details with source trips — Tap an earned badge to see more about it, including the trips that helped you unlock it when available. Clearer country flags on destinations — Trip stops and wishlist items pick up country codes more reliably so destination flags show the right place. Easier wishlist cleanup — Remove places from your wishlist with a clear confirmation and feedback. Stability polish — Safer screen dismissals, timeline parsing fixes from recent crash reports, and map-stack cleanup for a leaner app. Bottom line: Multi-destination day counts that stick, richer badge details, clearer flags, and smoother route edits.

Description

Trace. Real trips from real friends. Stop scrolling AI-generated lists and "top 10" articles. Trace is a social trip planner built around the itineraries your friends actually traveled, with their photos, their stops, their day-by-day notes, ready for you to copy, tweak, and make your own. Copy the trips your friends took Every itinerary on Trace is a real trip someone actually did. No AI guesswork. See the photos, the days, the order they hit each spot, and how long they stayed. Fork it in one tap and the whole plan becomes yours to edit. See every spot on one map Friend trips, hotels, restaurants, neighborhoods, all pinned on a live map built for trip planning, not driving directions. Filter by category, tap a pin to see who went and what they thought, and build a route that actually flows. A real itinerary, ready to fork Open any trip and get the whole picture: mapped route, day timeline, photos for every stop, and notes from someone who was actually there. Fork it and you've skipped the hardest part of planning. Start in seconds, however you like From scratch. From a screenshot you took in a friend's DMs. From a draft you left open last week. Three taps and you're going, with bookings, passes, tickets, notes, and decisions all in one shared place. Plan with your group Invite the people coming. Everyone sees the same plan, the same map, the same bookings. No more six Notes apps and a dead group chat. Your travel identity Your profile shows where you've been: countries, top spots, badges, saved trips. Share it with a QR and let friends pull from your trips the way you pulled from theirs. Made for travelers who trust people, not algorithms. Download Trace and turn your friends' best trips into your next one. Have feedback? Email us at info@by-trace.com. Build 887912734v1.32026-07-07 05:46:42
Home feed Smarter home feed — Better ranking for trips from people you follow and fresh posts in Discover, with more variety so one destination doesn’t dominate your feed. Richer feed cards — Destination hero images on trip cards load faster and look sharper on multi-city trips. Trips & planning Destination day counts stick — Changing nights on a destination in the trip viewer Days tab now saves reliably, and your profile trip dates and length update to match. Notifications Faster notifications — The notifications screen loads and refreshes more smoothly, with clearer follow-request handling. Performance Snappier trips & maps — Quicker transitions when opening itineraries, scrolling home, and panning the Explore map. Bottom line: A sharper feed, reliable day-count edits, smoother notifications, and a snappier app throughout.
Build 887940681v1.62026-07-07 21:40:34
Trips & planning Steady destination day stepper — Tapping +/− on nights in the trip viewer updates the counter instantly without the destination card disappearing and reappearing. Faster night-count saves — Background saves skip unnecessary session and profile round-trips, and only refresh the itinerary instead of reloading polls, expenses, and people. Edits survive a quick exit — Serialized save queues and an app-background flush help ensure your day-count changes reach the server even if you navigate away or close the app right after tapping. Safer stop updates — Itinerary stop writes now use an atomic server-side replace when available, reducing the risk of partial saves during rapid edits. Bottom line: Smooth day-count edits without flicker, faster saves, and changes that stick even when you leave quickly.
Build 887810957v1.22026-07-05 03:39:26
Itinerary & trips Itinerary viewer redesign — Trip Days now lead with destinations first: clearer headers, transport between stops, and a dedicated details view for each leg. Itinerary viewing is consolidated into one screen with smoother navigation from the trip hub. Trip day fixes — Day numbers stay consistent across the timeline, photo import, and planning flows so multi-day trips don't get scrambled. Feed cover images — Trip cards on the home feed respect each cover photo's aspect ratio so heroes look natural instead of forced into one crop. Explore & wishlist Add to wishlist from the map — Tap a place on the Explore map and save it straight to your wishlist from the pin card. Explore pin card — Spot details are grouped into clear sections: about, saved by, from friends, and actions. Explore map — Mapbox tiles load more reliably when you first open the map tab and recover gracefully if the initial load stalls. City guide cards — Spots in My Guide are visually separated so stacked cards no longer look glued together. Place search & photo import Smarter place search — Search is faster and more reliable in the planner, onboarding, and anywhere you pick a destination. Results are cached on device so repeat searches feel instant. Paid providers wait for free results first, keeping everyday picks fast. Past-trip photo import — EXIF dates are read more accurately, photos match venues more reliably, and trips no longer stretch across a full year when capture dates are missing. A dedicated review step after picking photos shows a "finding places" banner while venues are matched in the background. Welcome & performance Welcome & onboarding refresh — Cleaner sign-in and onboarding with updated chrome and layout. Sign in on multiple devices — Sessions no longer kick you off when you open Trace on a second phone or tablet. Faster profile & home — Cached profile and home data show immediately on return visits, then refresh quietly in the background. Dark mode polish — Better text contrast on trip hub days, bookings, expenses, settings, and profile category chips so night mode is easier to read. Bottom line: Trace is easier to browse on trips, faster on repeat visits, smarter at finding places, and better at importing past-trip photos — with a refreshed itinerary experience, map-to-wishlist saving, and smoother multi-device sign-in.
Build 887447949v1.12026-06-25 22:51:37
Your profile Wishlist — The old Recommendations tab is now a proper Wishlist. Save places you want to visit, group them by country, tag them by mood, and choose whether other travelers can see your list. My Guide — A new home for cities you really know: where you’ve lived, your regular spots, your travel style, and quick links into per-city guides. Travel style now sits below your regular places so the page reads more naturally. Your map — The big profile map has a cleaner hero layout and a coverage badge so you can see how much of the world you’ve mapped. Wishlist-only pins stay off your visited map; guide spots show up where they belong. Visited countries — Editing your countries is easier, with search and simple All / Visited / Dream filters that actually narrow the list. Badges — Achievement cards look more at home on your profile, and if you’ve earned more than the target (say 7 out of 5), it shows your real total instead of a confusing fraction. Planning & trips Copy a trip — Copying someone’s itinerary into your own planning is more reliable, especially for longer trips with lots of stops. Use where you are — When you’re adding an activity or a place to stay, you can drop a pin from your current location instead of searching every time. Photos — Trip and cover photos are handled more smartly on upload, so they’re quicker to add and look better on the feed. Comments — Trip authors can remove comments on their own itineraries when needed. While you’re traveling (live trips) On an active trip, you can add an activity or add a stay straight from the live itinerary — handy when plans change on the road. Maps & Explore The Explore map reloads tiles more reliably when you pan and zoom, and there’s a Recenter button to jump back to your location. Friends & discovery Friend discovery in Settings has a cleaner layout that matches the rest of the app. If you save your phone number for discovery, it now stays in sync across your devices — set it once on your phone and see it on your tablet too. Safer, clearer community tools Reporting a trip, comment, or profile is clearer: you pick a reason (harassment, spam, hate speech, and so on) and can add a short note. That helps us review reports faster. Notifications & updates Notification taps should take you to the right trip, profile, or comment thread more often. The notification icon on Android has been refreshed. If you’re on a very old version, Trace may show a friendly “time to update” screen that sends you straight to the App Store or Play Store — so you’re never stuck on a build we can’t support. Look & feel Trace’s accent color is now a consistent navy blue — the same shade as the countries on your profile map — across buttons, links, and highlights throughout the app. Miscellaneous polish: like counts stay readable on the home feed after you’ve liked a trip, Settings is easier to scan, and small layout fixes across profile and trip screens. Bottom line: v1.1 is a profile-and-planning release at heart — Wishlist, My Guide, and a sharper map — plus better maps while exploring, easier planning from your GPS, live-trip additions, cross-device friend discovery, and a fresher visual identity.
