Description
Pure MMA: Manager
You are a manager. Not a coach. Not a fighter.
Your objective is simple, but incredibly difficult: Guide your fighters through a brutal career, maximize their earnings, and get them to retirement before the sport takes a permanent toll on their health.
In Pure MMA: Manager, you don't hold the mitts, and you don't control the punches. Your battleground is the negotiation table, the matchmaker's inbox, and the global talent wire. You build careers, one calculated risk at a time.
THE JOB OF A MANAGER
You are the architect of your fighters' careers.
Strategic Matchmaking: Advise your clients on which fights to take and which killers to avoid. Lobby promoters for better opponents and fight for main-event card placements.
Outside the Cage: Search for external opportunities to build their net worth. Book paid sparring sessions, seminars, podcasts, and film roles—but carefully balance the financial upside against the energy and focus they need for their next training camp.
Gym Synergy: A fighter's environment dictates their success. A counter-striker losing decisions at an aggressive kickboxing camp might suddenly become a knockout artist if you move them to a gym that fits their natural rhythm.
WHEN THE CAGE DOOR CLOSES
Ultimately, when the referee signals the start of the bout, your job is done. You are helpless. You can only watch the live broadcast ticker and find out if your management worked.
Fights are resolved by a deeply calibrated, data-driven combat simulation. You will watch high-IQ fighters wait for their moments, desperate wrestlers panic-shoot when hurt, and time-conscious opponents take massive risks in the third round when they know they are down on the scorecards.
HEALTH VS. WEALTH
Damage in this game does not magically reset. Every brutal weight cut, every flash knockout, and every five-round war permanently degrades a fighter's "Chin Integrity" and adds to their career mileage.
Will you accept a life-changing payday against a terrifying opponent, knowing it might irreversibly damage your client? Or do you play it safe, risking their trust as they grow impatient with your cautious strategy?
A LIVING ECOSYSTEM
Fighters are not spreadsheets; they have egos, ambitions, and limits.
A "Company Man" might trust your slow-build approach, while a demanding "Diva" will threaten to leave for a rival agency if you don't secure them a title shot.
Handle missed weights, injuries, and short-notice fight offers that can fast-track a career or end it prematurely.
THE EPILOGUE
Every career ends. The only question is how. When your fighter finally hangs up the gloves, their retirement is graded. Did you secure a "Perfect" retirement, leaving them wealthy, healthy, and bound for the Hall of Fame? Or will it be a "Tragic" end—broke, damaged, and forgotten?

• Promotion progression overhaul: leagues now rise and fall based on their real financial health, so promotions can climb the tiers instead of only sliding down over time. Your fighters will always have somewhere to compete, even deep into a long career.
• Fixed a VIP weekend issue where swiping away the "approach a fighter" screen could replay the event and book a fighter into two bouts on the same night.
• New careers now start with the intended $1,000 in funding.

What's New
Contract Fixes
Fixed a bug where promotions that dropped to the local circuit could still hold contracted fighters, generating bizarre lowball renewal offers. Those promotions now properly release their roster — affected fighters become free agents and you'll get an inbox notification for each one.
Scheduled events for collapsed promotions are now cancelled cleanly instead of lingering on the calendar.
Gym Variety
Retired fighters opening new gyms now pick a philosophy that matches their fighting style. A retired wrestler opens a wrestling gym, a retired boxer opens a striking gym, and so on — with variety even between founders of the same style.
This fixes the issue where the world filled up with "Just bleed" brawl gyms by Year 4 onwards.
Submission System
Three overlapping bugs in the guillotine choke system fixed. Submission defense is now actually read when defending takedown counters, the choke progression uses the right fighter's stats on each side, and shallow chokes no longer trigger near-instant finishes on pulled-guard transitions.
Result: a fighter with strong submission defense will now escape opportunistic guillotines from low-skill strikers most of the time — as you'd expect.

What's new:
• Teammates are no longer offered against each other. Fight offers from promotions and the lobbying system now respect gym affiliations — no more wasted clicks on bouts you can't book.
• Reworked the lobbying flow. Open a promotion, pick your fighter first, then see their division. Teammates remain visible but clearly marked, so you know who's off the table up front.
• Starting balance increased from $250 to $1,000 for new careers. Less time in the red, more time building.

Promotions now meet you in the middle instead of just rejecting and walking away
When your ask is reasonable but above their ceiling, they'll propose their best offer back — accept it in one tap
Rejection language is softer for normal overreaches; only true deal-breakers still get the harsh response
Signing bonus expectations rebalanced so they feel proportionate to overall contract value
Commentary Fixes
Fixed a bug where submission narration could say "submission locked in, momentum on your side" while the fighter on the back foot was actually about to win
Submission escapes now have a proper "tide turning" follow-up beat so you can feel the moment a threat passes
Fighter names appear at the start of every commentary line, so you always know exactly who's doing what — no more guessing whether "he sinks in the choke" refers to your fighter or theirs
