Map State Persistence Feature
Main Enhancement: The map now remembers your position when viewing favorite spots or bookings
Key Features:
1. Continuous Map State Saving - The map automatically saves your current position
(coordinates, zoom, pitch) to local storage as you pan and interact with it
2. Favorite/Booking Spot Persistence - When you:
- Click "View on map" from favorites
- Click "View on map" from bookings
- Navigate away and come back
The map will restore to that exact spot instead of reverting to your GPS location
3. Location Button Behavior - Pressing the location button clears saved state and follows
your GPS in real-time (as expected)
4. Fresh Start Detection - When opening the app fresh, it starts at your GPS location and
enables follow mode
Technical Improvements:
- Fixed race conditions between GPS tracking and saved position restoration
- Prevented GPS from overriding saved favorite/booking positions
- Added proper state synchronization between localStorage and React state
- Implemented useFocusEffect to restore camera position when navigating back to map screen
- Smart initialization of follow mode based on navigation context
User Experience:
- Smooth transitions when viewing favorite spots
- Map stays at the spot you were viewing even after navigating to other screens
- No more jumping back to GPS location unexpectedly
- Clean, production-ready code with debug logs removed
