EpiWatch: Seizure Monitoring and Alerting
FDA-cleared Seizure Detection
SAFETY, INDEPENDENCE, AND PEACE OF MIND
Take control of seizure safety with EpiWatch, the only clinically validated and FDA-cleared tonic-clonic seizure detection
and alerting app for Apple Watch. EpiWatch is available in the U.S. Seizure detection, monitoring, and caregiver alerting require a prescription from a U.S. clinician.
CLINICALLY VALIDATED SEIZURE DETECTION
EpiWatch is powered by an FDA-cleared seizure detection algorithm that detected 98% of tonic-clonic seizures in clinical
trials with a false alarm rate of .08 per 24 hour period.
SUPPORTS INDEPENDENT APPLE WATCHES (FAMILY SETUP)
EpiWatch supports Apple's Family Setup. This means you can set up a cellular Apple Watch for a loved one using your own iPhone and their EpiWatch account, giving them full access without them needing a smartphone of their own.
ALERTS CAREGIVERS VIA E-MAIL, PHONE CALL, OR TEXT
When EpiWatch detects tonic-clonic seizure activity, it sends seizure alerts to the EpiWatch caregiver list by phone call,
text, and e-mail directly over the watch’s wi-fi or cellular connection.
CUSTOMIZABLE CAREGIVER ALERT PREFERENCES
Add as many caregivers as you need to your alert network with no extra cost. Customize each caregiver's alert
preferences for notification.
ALERTS CAREGIVERS TO YOUR LOCATION
EpiWatch includes the watch wearer’s GPS location with alert messaging.
USE HELP BUTTON FOR MANUAL ALERTING
Manually send alerts to contacts by pressing the “HELP” button for assistance.
FREE SEIZURE LOGGING AND DIARY
EpiWatch includes free seizure journaling and manual logging, available without a prescription or subscription. Manually log seizure events, record auras, and add clinical details such as seizure type, duration, and severity. With prescription-activated monitoring, automatic detections and manual alerts can also appear on your calendar.
MONITORING STATUS NOTIFICATIONS
Status notifications on the watch provide confirmation that monitoring is active. Send test alerts to caregivers at any time.
APPLE WATCH COMPLICATION
Add the EpiWatch complication to your Apple Watch face for quick access to the app and at-a-glance monitoring status.
SIMPLE TO SUBSCRIBE
Subscribe directly on the Apple App store. Billing is through your Apple account.
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE
The EpiWatch Monitoring System is an FDA-cleared (K243515) software-only mobile medical application intended for use
with a compatible wrist-worn device as an adjunct to seizure monitoring of adults and children ages 5 and up. EpiWatch requires a U.S. clinician’s prescription and an active subscription for seizure detection, monitoring, and caregiver alerting.
