Petunia is an all-in-one platform designed for dog boarding, daycare, breeders, shelter and rescue organizations, and pet owners. It brings reservations, pet records, staff operations, client communication, reminders, and day-to-day coordination into one connected system so businesses can spend less time managing scattered tools and more time focused on the dogs in their care.
For boarding and daycare businesses, Petunia helps you manage reservations, track who is on site, organize client and pet records, and run operations with more clarity. Accept, edit, and track daycare and boarding bookings with capacity controls and custom booking limits. Use real-time check-ins, attendance visibility, and cleaner pickup workflows so staff always know which dogs are on property and when they are ready to go home. Keep pet and client profiles organized with vaccinations, medications, behavior notes, care details, and uploaded documents in one place. Optional grooming add-ons let businesses offer baths, nail trims, and other services during the booking process.
Petunia also supports stronger internal operations for teams. Boarding and daycare businesses can use employee scheduling tools, time-off requests, shift templates, employee availability, coverage planning, labor visibility, and a dedicated employee dashboard for schedules, training materials, company policies, onboarding, paperwork tracking, and related staff workflows. Team roles and permissions help give employees the access they need while protecting sensitive information.
Communication is becoming more connected inside Petunia. Businesses can use advanced messaging with approved clients, making it easier to keep conversations inside the platform instead of relying on scattered texts and apps. Vaccine visibility and file review are also clearer inside Client Management, helping teams stay organized and compliant.
For shelter and rescue organizations, Petunia now supports updated owner and admin workflows for Intake & Admissions, Dogs On Property, kennel setup, pending requests, client management, and business settings. This helps shelters and rescues keep dog records, intake flow, housing context, and operational coordination more organized inside one system.
For breeders, Petunia includes a dedicated Breeder Dashboard, Business Settings, Pending Requests, Client Management, My Dogs profile management, and an AKC Breeds browser. This gives breeders a more organized way to manage dog profiles, client relationships, and core business workflows in one place.
For individual pet owners, Petunia helps keep important care information easy to access and easy to manage. Receive vaccine reminders and alerts before records expire, track yearly vet checkups, and stay on top of upcoming appointments, drop-offs, pickups, and scheduled services. Store your dog’s health information, medications, feeding notes, and other important details in one secure profile. Find and connect with trusted providers by requesting approval to join your preferred boarding, daycare, or breeder. Pet owners can also access expert-written blog content focused on health, behavior, training, operations, and industry topics.
Petunia is also available on iPad, giving businesses and teams a larger-screen experience for managing day-to-day workflows.

This release continues to expand Petunia into a complete platform for pet care businesses, with updates across boarding, daycare, shelter/rescue, staffing, pricing, payments, financial visibility, communication, and operations.
For boarding and daycare businesses, the first phase of Employee Management is now available. This includes Employee Scheduling, time-off requests, shift templates, employee availability, schedule calendar tools, coverage view, conflict detection, compensation and pay rates, earnings types, differentials, employee pay setup, estimated labor spend visibility, and stronger labor overhead management. These updates are designed to help owners and managers organize schedules, plan labor more efficiently, improve visibility into staffing needs, and better understand labor-related cost pressure without relying on disconnected tools.
We also introduced a brand new employee dashboard. Employees can now use a dedicated portal for schedule access, availability, time-off requests, training materials, company policies, and paperwork and onboarding tracking features, helping businesses bring more of the employee experience into the same platform.
We have also significantly expanded boarding payment processing and pricing controls. Boarding businesses can now manage nightly rates, Hotel-Style Checkout Charges, deposit rules, boarding add-ons, odd-hours fees, and later-collection workflows such as Invoice After Attendance and Pay At Pickup / Deferred Payment. This gives businesses more flexibility in how they structure stay pricing, pickup timing, extras, deposits, and final balance collection while keeping pricing, payments, and staff workflows connected.
The first phase of Financial Management is now live with Transactions & Refunds. Businesses can now track transaction-level payment activity, refunds, received amounts, and fee visibility directly in the app. This is the first step toward a broader financial management experience.
Petunia now supports more advanced messaging between clients and approved businesses, giving teams stronger conversation tools directly inside the platform. Alongside the broader CRM rollout, this helps businesses keep communication, follow-up, and relationship management closer to the rest of their daily workflow instead of splitting those activities across multiple apps.
Our early CRM rollout is now built into Boarding & Daycare. This includes recipients and audiences, custom emails, scheduled emails, follow-ups, client pipeline visibility, recent activity, and CRM settings. These tools create the foundation for stronger client communication, retention, re-engagement, and operational follow-up, and they are the first phase of a much larger CRM and communications system.
We have also continued expanding support for shelter and rescue organizations. Shelters and rescues can now sign up and use Petunia with updated owner/admin workflows for Intake & Admissions, Dogs On Property, kennel setup, pending requests, client management, business settings, and multi-location dashboard support. We have also continued building out operational workflows around intake paperwork, legal status, dog details, health intake, housing context, and day-to-day on-property coordination.
Petunia is now available on iPad, with the app built out for larger-screen use so teams can manage core workflows across iPhone and iPad.
Looking ahead to summer 2026, we are preparing for our July 2026 expansion into Dog Walker and Pet Sitter workflows. We are also building new functionality for individual pet owners, including activity tracking between owners and their pets, with planned syncing from Apple Watch and Garmin devices. Our broader vision is to continue growing Petunia into a more complete all-in-one platform for pet care businesses, organizations, and pet owners while also building a meaningfully more affordable alternative to older, more expensive software options currently on the market.
