What’s New Version 1.19
Text comes to InfinitySketch — and a lot more.
ADD & EDIT TEXT
Tap the new Add/Edit Text tool, then tap anywhere to drop a text and start typing — tap any text to edit it in place. Text scales with zoom and shows up in PNG exports and thumbnails. Place precisely by dragging with Apple Pencil, and snap to the grid when Snap to Grid is on.
STYLE IT
A Word-style Text Format panel: font, size, bold/italic/underline/strikethrough, text and highlight colour, alignment, and line & letter spacing. Save your looks as reusable style presets, and use Copy & Paste Format to brush one text's style onto others. Turn on Word Wrap for fixed-width text boxes you can resize right on the canvas. Text adapts automatically to dark and light mode.
SELECT & TRANSFORM
Rectangle-select your texts to move, rotate, and scale them alongside strokes and images, restyle several at once, and reorder them in the new Texts panel.
SMART PASTE, COPY & DRAG-AND-DROP
Paste now figures out your clipboard — in-app content pastes richly, images drop in, and copied text becomes editable placed text. Copy a selection (or the whole sketch) as a transparent image to paste into Notes, Mail, or anywhere. On iPad, drag images from Photos, Files, or Safari straight onto the canvas.
MOUSE & TRACKPAD
On iPad, a connected pointer now drives every non-drawing gesture — selection, handles, picking a grid origin, and more.
OPEN FROM FILES
Tap an .infsketch file in the Files app to open it directly in the editor, with in-place editing for external documents and multi-device conflict safety for iCloud. Long-press in the browser to Open in New Window.
KEYBOARD
Full clipboard shortcuts (Cmd-C / Cmd-V / Cmd-X / Cmd-D / Cmd-A), three-finger copy/paste/select-all gestures, and Esc to back out of any mode.
IMPROVEMENTS & FIXES
• The keyboard stays put as you move between texts.
• Each text edit collapses into one clean undo step.
• Undo and redo now work inside rectangle-select.
• Side panels remember their scroll position, with icons on their names.
• Much faster, smoother rectangle-select on big sketches.
• Fixed: deleting or undoing a line no longer moves unrelated lines.
• Fixed: fast-drawn lines all snap, not just the last.
• Fixed: a rare undo/redo crash, and a hang when copying with nothing selected.
• Fixed: iPhone toolbar overlap, and the iPadOS window controls covering the back button.

Build 885490566v1.182026-05-11 16:55:10
New tool: Bring to Front / Send to Back. A new pen sits in the PencilKit palette right after the Eraser. It doesn't draw — dragging across strokes pushes them to the top (Bring to Front) or bottom (Send to Back) of the z-order. Each stroke moves at most once per drag; the whole drag is one Undo entry. Tap the pen a second time to switch between the two modes; the badge on the pen swaps to match.
Side Panel — the toolbar's old Lines & Grids button is now a generic Side Panel button. Its icon mirrors which edge the panel docks to. The header has a menu that switches between Lines & Grids and the new Images subpanel; your last choice is remembered until you reopen the document.
New: Images panel. Lists the rect-selected placed images on the canvas. Each row has a thumbnail, a pin button, and an opacity slider with a percent field. Drag rows to reorder the front-to-back stack within their layer.
Pin to send an image to a separate background layer — pinned images always render behind any non-pinned image, regardless of list order, while z-order is preserved among pinned and among non-pinned independently. Pinned images can still be rect-selected, but they stay put when the rest of the selection is moved, transformed, or deleted — release them with "Unpin selected images" in the rect-select menu.
Build 885218136v1.172026-05-04 00:25:18
Lines & Grids — redesigned. On iPad the panel now docks to the side of the canvas instead of taking over the screen, so you can tweak grid settings while you draw.
New: Pick origin from canvas. Tap a grid's scope icon, then tap a point on the canvas — that point becomes a grid intersection, and the anchor is preserved as you change rotation, spacing, or grid type.
New: Isometric grid — a 60° triangular lattice for axonometric work.
New: per-grid Rotation°. Each grid rotates independently, and Offset X / Y read in the grid's local rotated frame so typing values feels natural at any angle.
Per-grid Enable snap and Visible toggles let you mix grids more freely. Swipe right on a row to duplicate it, swipe left to delete, long-press to drag and reorder — the new order also restacks the grids on the canvas.
Stroke width edits now preserve pen pressure — width changes no longer flatten the pressure profile.
Adjustable snap threshold — tune it in iOS Settings → InfinitySketch (default 50pt).
Build 880954723v1.162025-12-23 23:48:14
Removed Apple's Document Picker GUI and replaced it with a custom solution. This fixes occasional crashes when closing documents!
Build 879813472v1.152025-11-16 20:12:20
Bugfix: Undo operations affecting images are now stored correctly.
Build 878675852v1.142025-10-06 23:13:08
Added Autosave Feature
To mitigate potential data loss from occasional issues with Apple's Document-Based App API when closing documents, the app now includes an autosave feature. It automatically saves a copy of each document to a dedicated autosave folder, except for documents already stored in that folder. Older autosave files are automatically deleted to manage storage. The autosave limit (default: 10 files) can be customized in the app's settings.

Build 872860672v1.112025-08-17 15:15:26
Added Image Support: Seamlessly paste images from the system pasteboard to set them as backgrounds or use them as symbols, enhancing your creative workflow.
Reworked the toolbar system.
Added dedicated Undo and Redo buttons to the toolbar.
Introduced "Rotate" and "Scale" manipulation modes when a reference point is set.
Improved resolution for PNG exports, with a 16-megapixel limit to prevent memory issues.
"Force Line" and "Snap to Grid" are now disabled by default. Enabling or disabling "Force Line" automatically toggles "Snap to Grid" for convenience, while still allowing independent control of "Snap to Grid" when needed.
Added new example sketch: "Flicker-Free LED Dimming"
Bug fixes and stability improvements.
Build 872759699v1.102025-02-25 01:21:46
Added new options to document settings:
"Include Grid in Export" - When enabled, the grid will be shown in the exported PNG image!
"Grid Line Thickness Scale for Export" - Grid line thickness will be multiplied by this factor for export.
"Clearance Margin" - Defines the amount of empty space added around the content in the exported image.
Now "Force line" will also affect stretched strokes if enabled!
Improved stroke endpoint selection algorithm. It’s now possible to distinguish between strokes that share the same endpoint!
The Reference Point marker now has the same (configurable) color as "Rect Select."
Build 872268035v1.92025-02-05 21:42:41
Bugfix: Drawing dots on the snap grid should now work as intended.
Build 872192842v1.82025-02-04 10:47:02
Infinity Sketch can now convert any stroke into a perfect Arc / Circle!
----
Here is how it's done:
1. Select the strokes to convert into arcs with the "Rectangle Select" tool.
2. Set the Reference Point to the arc center.
3. In the dropdown menu, choose "Edit arc" (instead of "Rotate endpoint").
4. Drag the endpoints of a selected stroke to convert it into an arc!
----
It's now possible to draw dots on the enabled snap grid! The drawn dot will be centered, and it is ensured that the stroke is closed at the snapped position.
Pro hint: Draw dots with a transparent color to create invisible "stroke endpoints" to create snapping anchor points for edit operations!
Minor fixes and improvements.
Build 871461396v1.72024-12-31 12:35:53
Introduced a new Document Settings overlay.
PNG images will now export with a background color by default.
Use the new Document Settings overlay to set up exports with a transparent background.
Customize the colors of "Background", "Snap Indicator", "Line Indicator", and "Rect Select" in the Document Settings overlay.
The back button now closes open overlays before exiting the document.
Minor fixes and improvements.
Build 871135264v1.62024-12-14 19:08:27
New toolbar button to disable scroll and zoom
Build 871098980v1.52024-12-12 21:55:31
Fixed toolbar issues!
Build 870032832v1.42024-10-29 13:55:39
Hotfix for iOS 18.1 (which had previously completely broken the app)
Unfortunately, there are still issues with the toolbar. These are known issues with Apple’s document-based app API, which I cannot fix on my end. As a workaround, moving the app to the background and reopening it from the task manager usually helps. I’ll keep an eye on this and apply a fix as soon as possible.
Build 869929936v1.32024-10-24 06:21:41
Stability improvements
Build 869659058v1.22024-10-12 06:46:37
The back button now exits Rect Select mode if active, instead of closing the document.
The example sketch now displays the correct background color in light mode.
Added a link to my X profile.
Renamed the share button to "Export as PNG".
