What’s New Version 1.4.4

Widgets now show live, real-time clocks. Your World Clock and Analog Clock widgets stay on the current minute, so the time on your Home Screen always matches the time where it matters — plus rendering fixes and performance improvements for widgets.

Description

Ora is a world clock app, in the most literal sense possible. Like any good world clock, it lets you see the time in different locations around the globe; but unlike others, it can show you those times on an actual globe, and you can use Time Travel to see different times. This is especially useful if you work across time zones, or are following events in other time zones; for all those times you might ask questions like “What time is it in New York when it’s 3pm in London?”.

Yellow highlights are shown for time zones approaching 9am, and purple highlights are shown for time zones in the evening after 5pm. This feature is enabled by default but can be turned off from the about/settings screen. 2. Advanced time travel can be enabled by tapping the “Time travel” label in the bottom bar. This reveals a date picker and shows absolute instead of relative dates in the list view. 3. You can now schedule events by swiping right on a time zone in the list view (or tapping the menu button on a time zone on iPad). 4. Localised time zone abbreviations are now shown for all locations. For example, if you’re an Ora user in London, San Francisco’s time zone used to be abbreviated as “GMT-8”; now, it’s abbreviated as PDT/PST, in accordance with daylight savings time observation. 5. You can now search for locations by time zone abbreviations, for both standard and daylight savings abbreviations. For example, searching for “BST” will show Cardiff, Edinburgh, and London.
