What is ACTaide
ACTaide brings key ACT exercises — like defusion, mindfulness, values clarification, and committed action — to clients' pockets. Co-created with ACT therapists and clients, for ACT therapists and their clients. ACTaide supports clients in practicing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) exercises between sessions through an interesting, unique, and evidence-informed format.
Why ACTaide
It is not uncommon for clients to struggle with practicing exercises learned during therapy sessions. Things like low motivation, forgetting, or simply not having access to the exercises when needed can get in the way. Yet, practicing these exercises at home is essential for building and mastering skills that lead to real, lasting change. That is why we created ACTaide — to help clients stay engaged with ACT exercises between sessions.
Who is ACTaide for?
ACTaide was created for both clients and therapists engaged in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). For clients, it serves as a practical, guided companion to help reinforce exercises introduced in therapy, promoting deeper understanding and more consistent between-session practice. Whether you're in therapy, working through an ACT self-help book, or exploring ACT on your own, the app is free and publicly available as a supportive tool.
For therapists, ACTaide offers a structured and user-friendly way to enhance your clinical work. Recommending ACTaide can help clients build confidence with ACT skills, reinforce metaphors introduced in session, and stay engaged in the therapeutic process at home—ultimately extending the reach and impact of your work.
