Build 881095501v1.31.02026-01-08 10:38:51
Happy New Year 2026! This update brings several improvements:
- You can now choose the date stamp format when adding date stamps to photos.
- Updated font styles for some built-in frames (for new installations).
- After you press the shutter button, the animation now finishes as soon as the exposure is complete, allowing you to take the next photo immediately. Previously, you had to wait until the system finished processing the photo before you could shoot again. This change helps you capture more moments without waiting. Please note that it is still recommended to keep the app open until all photos are saved.
- When the Non-Destructive Save option is enabled in Advanced Settings, photos with no filters or effects applied will no longer be saved as edited versions (you won’t see a Revert button in the Photos app). This helps save storage space.
- Other improvements and bug fixes.

- The focus indicator when choosing the focus point in the Depth Editor now shows in HDR white when HDR is enabled, helping you see the focus point clearly.
- When you are outdoors in bright sunlight, the system may clip HDR content in the editor. In this case, the app automatically falls back to SDR mode.
- Upgrading from the previous version of the app will not reset the hidden status of the filters anymore.
- In the photo frame, when you use the Filter Name field for your custom frame and the filter you use is your custom filter, only the filter name you customized before will be shown.
- Added the Reddit entrance in the about page. You can send feedback, discuss with others, or post your photos captured by PhotonCam in this subreddit.

- Slightly increased the launch speed.
- Photos captured by the camera will be processed in queue, with a little indicator showing the processing count.

- Add a new toggle to post the black & white effect, so that the photo will stay monochromatic no matter how you edit your photo.
- When you connect your iPhone to the external display via screen cast, it will show the camera preview as well as the histogram in the external display, making it an external monitor.
- In the low-light condition, it will automatically use the quality-first fusion prioritization to improve low-light quality. If you turn on the “Disable Fusion to de-sharpen”, this won’t work.
- For sliders, now you can tap the track to set the value to that position. Note: as always, you can tap the number to the left of the slider to reset the value.
- When you enter the editor, your last used panel (Filters/Adjustments/Frame/HDR) will be automatically selected, helping you tweak the same editing across different photos quickly.
- Addressed some UI bugs introduced in iOS 26.1.
