The structure and function of key components such as the ion exchanger, fuel cell stack, tank, safety valve, and air system are explained, as well as important testing and safety aspects. Particular emphasis is placed on pressure behavior, leak detection, drainage, and system activation. Key processes and interrelationships are explained using typical driving situations such as standstill, acceleration, deceleration, or reversing, as well as the refueling process.
