After feedback, we’ve upgraded our app’s interface and capabilities. Responding to requests for a community pulse indicator, we created Social GPS to help you locate active social scenes. Our map shows the Community Pulse, indicating where like-minded individuals gather, from popular spots to events. Each Flock has its own map with favorite places and activities.

Following some feedback, we have removed the interactive map. Now when you open the app, the landing page will provide you with active communities, trending spots and a list of activities to explore.

In response to the overwhelming excitement and activity within our ecosystem, we've made the decision to temporarily reel back the ability for users to post activities. This move aims to maintain the high quality and relevance of events. We are also limiting access to existing users and those that receive invites to the specific communities in Grand Rapids for now. Furthermore, we've decided to focus heavily on a few key communities that resonate deeply with our users. The art, live music, cycling, and beer communities are at the forefront of our attention. We believe these updates will elevate your flockx experience to new heights. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.

We've improved finding current activities to get you to where your community is at quicker. We've also made it easier to discover upcoming activities, keeping you in the know.

We’re thrilled to introduce the latest updates to the flockx app that bring a fresh and inviting look to your community-driven experience. Our team has been hard at work revamping the interface, enhancing your flockx journey even more. We have moved from dark to a more inviting light theme. Furthermore, you will find updated activity cards featuring photographic imagery representative of the community to which an activity belongs. Lastly, we have refactored the discovery feed you see when opening the app into three distinct sections: Current and Upcoming Activities, Trending Communities, and Discover Spots.

The latest release helps mitigate uncertainty around validity of activities by giving users the ability to see the number of locals who have verified an activity’s occurrence, and the ability to verify activities within a 20 mile radius. Another main focus has been adding the ability to discover your favorite businesses and points of interest. Improvements have been made to help users find out which communities are hanging out at these locations and also any activities taking place (current, upcoming and past activities). Lastly, the content on the activity card has been refactored to be more concise, informative and visually appealing. With the introduction of all this data, we upgraded the business info page into a home for users to view all activities and communities associated with that location.

To continue serving you as the go-to app for finding real-time activities within your community, we have improved the ease in which you can find activities, both by relevance as well as by community. Simply toggle between “current activities” and “communities” on the home screen. Additionally, if you haven’t joined any communities yet, you can now join multiple communities at the same time to springboard your profile into the flockx universe. Make sure to enable notifications so you never miss out.

Bugfix: Fixed an issue with the post button when posting a community activity

Our activity flow has been improved and simplified, making it easier than ever for you to post community activities on flockx. You can now add an optional description before posting an activity which will “boost” the visibility of your post in other users’ feeds. Additionally, an onboarding flow has been added to help showcase the app’s functionality. Remember to log in to be able to join communities and unlock custom stickers.

Bugfix: Fixed issue where some activities had incorrect timing on the countdown.

In order to create a more meaningful, personalized experience, we have added the ability to join communities and get access to community-specific activities and rewards. Certain communities, once joined, will give you access to limited edition stickers to use in the app. You can now also share communities to get others involved.

Following quick feedback from our users, some of the community names were not displaying correctly on the map for leading activities. Now you are able to see the names of all communities while browsing the map for leading activities.

We are excited to announce a new social element: stickers that you can use to react to current activities. With this new feature, you can express your emotions and reactions in real-time, making your community engagement even more fun and interactive. Now you can convey your excitement, anticipation, and interest in the activities listed.

No more guessing how long an activity will last or showing up too late to participate. Easily see whether an activity has just started, is ending soon, or if there’s still time to join so you can better plan which activities to attend and ensure that you never miss out on a fun event again. We understand that your time is valuable, and we want to make sure that you're able to maximize your experience on flockx.

With users beginning to explore more activities in the app and new activities coming through at the same time, we have improved how a user can refresh those results. Users can now browse the map and then update the activities based on a different location using the ‘Search This Area’ function.

As community activity increases, we wanted to help users quickly identify whats happening right now. We have introduced an enhanced ‘Current Activities’ feed, highlighting activities based on recency, proximity, and authenticity. To encourage building the sense of community and meeting like-minded people, you are now able to share a ‘Leading Activity’ with friends and family through social media platforms, messaging apps, or email.

With the feedback received around SXSW 2023 in Austin about the communities being spotted, we’ve updated our ecosystem to handle the increasing amounts of activities being reported and support an increased number of communities.

As an enhancement to the leading activities in the previous release, we have now included the name of the community underneath the activity icon. This supports our aim to help individuals find out whats happening within their community in real-time. For those users who were not seeing activity in their area on the map, we have added quick access to ‘Current Activities’. These are the currently active leading activities to help you find out what’s going on.

We have updated how the activity icons are displayed on the map and added a new type of activity. In addition to spotting a community, you can now post a 'Leading Activity'. This type of activity gets increased visibility on the map and allows you to add a description for the post. With an increase in activities being posted we wanted to make it easier for you to find your community. Real-time activities are in full colour, whilst those that occurred more than 4 hours ago are in grayscale. In addition, whilst exploring the map please click on the icons. When clicking on them you will now see who posted the activity and when.

As the number of communities within the app continues to increase, we have made it easier for users to explore communities in their area, as well as spot new ones. You can now access a list of communities when searching or spotting communities within the app. Additionally, we have added more communities based on feedback from our users.

This update resolves an issue impacting some users which results in the app crashing when opening it.

To improve how users can find where their community is hanging out, we have improved the search functionality. We have also upgraded some of the backend systems to enhance the user experience.
