This is great news, because you can configure them as you like: * Flexible manual and automatic setup * Use ALL actions you know from iConnectHue, like * Switching lights and groups * Scenes, Magic Scenes and Animations * Launch instant timers * Blink lights * ... and more! The new wired Wall Switch Modules don't need a battery and instead get their supply from mains - no battery replacement - ever! These are the available variants, currently solely available in Europe: * Wired module w/o any additional functions * Wired module w/ one dimmer channel * Wired modules w/ either one or two toggle channels All of these modules will behave like the original battery modules, with the addition that the ones with channels ALSO allow you to integrate existing lights or applicances that were originally toggled with your switch. I love this app and it’s one of the few that I happily choose to pay an annual subscription for (of course I pay for some subscriptions, just not very happily). I probably don’t use more than a quarter of its features, but I want to support them and make sure they continue to operate and keep making this app better and better. I have used it absolutely daily since 2015, as my stock of hue lights went from three to more than 30. It’s simply the best and most intuitive one I’ve used. Pay to download, pay more to use basics, pay even more to use everything

Pay to download a base app and get almost no functionality (much less than the Philips Hue app), you then need to pay for a base membership to get a few free samples of the pro membership items but will need to individually buy them (not as much functionality as the Philips Hue app yet), finally you need to pay for a Pro membership to get full functionality and get all the animations/scenes for “free” (same as the Philips Hue app, but iConnectHue has more animations). Only get this if you are sure the Philips Hue app does not have the animations you need and know this app has it. Comparison:

I use to love this app because it offered a lot more flexibility when it came to setting up hue switches… it seems like it’s starting to lack behind the default hue app in some ways though. The thing that bothers me most is that in the hue app you can set a button to cycle through up to 10 screens. This app only allows 5. I’m actually surprised they haven’t updated this yet. I do like that this app has more options for press and hold though. The other thing is this app doesn’t let you save hue effects to a scene. The default hue app does allow that.
