Description
TvhClient will enable your iPhone or iPad to easily perform your TVHeadend common daily tasks and allow you to watch your channels on your device.
TvhClient allows you to remotely control the TVHeadend server - a DVB receiver, DVR and streaming server.
The app relies on real-time data it retrieves from the TVHeadend server allowing you to accomplish several tasks, including:
* view the channel's streaming video in-app or launch a third party video application,
* list channels,
* view channel's EPGs,
* search by program title,
* start, schedule and playback recordings (DVR),
* check alternative times for any show scheduled,
* view the log / status of the server
* browse your muxes and playback any of them without a channel
Supported Tvheadend versions: 3.2 and up.
Transcoding is supported in TVHeadend 4.x versions using TVHeadend's profiles.

The app supports sending video stream url directly to: VLC, Oplayer, Buzz Player, GoodPlayer, Ace Player, nPlayer and remotely to Kodi (TvhClient does not support passwords in webinterface!). If you know other apps that work well with TVHeadend and want them added, contact me via e-mail.

Added support for the latest development version of tvheadend (see below) - if you’re using the very latest 4.3 version, please go to configuration - general - base and change authentication type to both plain+basic.
Added ability to playback with digest authentication only - this uses a workaround which has the downside of the url being valid for 5min only, but it has the benefit of not sharing the username/password. Unfortunately recordings does not work with this workaround, which means we need plain+digest in order to have recordings working.
If you have an admin user active, TvhClient will attempt to fix this authentication issue if that's detected. If you have a non-admin user and recordings does not work, you'll need to manually change the authentication type in configuration - general - base from "Digest" to "Both Plain + Digest"

- VLC Playback: mobileVLCKit has been updated to the latest version
- VLC now has hardware decoding, but unfortunately it does not support hardware decoding of interlaced content - which is what almost all broadcasters transmit
- iOS internal player added
- you may now specify a stream profile that you want to use while editing a server properties
UI
- new EPG on the iPad (still in beta)
- all layouts have been re-programmed to allow iPad split screen
- adding / editing a server will now tell you if the connection can be established
- discover servers if they're being broadcasted (synology users might be out of luck here)
