The "Active Events in Progress" section of the scanner stations now shows a list of stations with alerts and will connect you to the station directly when you tap on it. When you enable "auto-hide buttons" in the interface settings, the auto-hide is now shortened to 15 seconds when you first open a station and 7 seconds when you tap on the screen to show the buttons again. This can always be disabled by tapping on "More" when listening to a station -> Interface Settings -> Always Show Buttons. Fixed a bug where some users could not browse scanner stations by location.

Very confused
I bought this app a few years ago to get rid of the advertisements , it was a very good app until recently there was an update and the app was removed from my phone and replaced with a different app. When I downloaded the original app back from the cloud, all of a sudden it has advertisements again and there is a monthly subscription fee. How is this right when I purchased the app from the start. Please respond.

The Ad integration takes this from 5 to 3 stars.
This is still one of the better free scanner apps I’ve found. The only issue I have is the obnoxious ad’s and no apparent way to skip or close them and then when the ad is finished you have to go in and hit play again, every time. I understand that’s how the app stays free just wish they were better integrated.

Just because the app is free doesn’t mean it’s ok to have commercials every two minutes . You ruined a great app with greed . Then when you’re trying to listen to a police call but a commercial comes on every time and mutes the call so u have to hear the commercial instead it defeats the purpose of the app, especially since u can’t even mute or skip the commercial. You ruined your own app with greed . I understand the need for ads but this is overkill. Cmon , an add every two minutes ? Advertising makes it impossible to hear or get back to the scanner. Always takes you to gaming download site regardless of the in progress call- very frustrating. Why is there no ad skip button? For years I’ve had to listen to commercials and just close the app and re open it so I don’t have to listen to a game advertisement sounds of coins collecting and nonsense that you can not skip it just hangs there asking you to play the game but never coming back to the scanners. I shouldn’t have to close the app and re open it to listen to scanners. Ads should play once and go back to scanners. Not make me play a downloadable game or listen to nonsense sounds of a game advertisement for five minutes and have no skip button.

Yeah, what everyone said about ads. I deleted the old, outdated version and downloaded this one. It would be very cool except EVERY time I hit the back button to change stations it goes into an ad for a gambling site. It’s irritating enough that after ten minutes with the new version I’m deleting it and finding something else. Too bad since the NOAA radio feature could be useful.

Tried this app again in 2025. Still overheats my iPhone and it’s the latest iPhone. It’s a shame because I love the radio and scanner features. 2018: love the app but I had to uninstall because the app was overheating my iPhone beside of so much battery life/CPU it was taking. When searching for radio stations on the app most of the stations are not to be found or discontinued. Please update your radio station list to those stations that are working.

In the past I enjoyed listening, but today I opened the app and after nearly ten minutes of dead silence i began trying various other buttons and still have zero. A couple of weeks ago I opened it and although it was playing, it kept interrupting scanner with sales pitches which were near impossible to get off my screen. Good for entertainment and safety.
I find the radio station portion of this app very entertaining. I use some of the stations for background while doing house work or relaxing. The scanner channels can also be entertaining, but useful for safety as well. I am visually impaired and therefore make safety while walking or traveling my city a priority. I use the police scanner channels to troubleshoot. I listen for emergency activity in real time, and use that to avoid problem areas where I may be taking the bus or disembarking from our trolley system. Scammers on your app!
“42 Viruses Found!” This is a scam attached to your app, it’s fake unless clicked upon, but you should do something about it. When I saw the scam pop up while using the scanner this evening two hours ago it said “Your iPhone was hacked after visiting website”, “you now have 42 viruses that must be resolved in 2 minutes or the virus will delete all your contacts and photos and the SIM Card will be damaged”. It tells you to click the “Remove All Viruses link at the bottom” to resolve the issue. Please rid your app of this SCAM or I will delete the app.

Greedy developers have ruined the app.
This app becomes unusable after 15 minutes of play time. What irritates is I purchased the app many years ago and now it is an asinine amount per month. If you don't pay that absurd amount you have constant ads at the bottom and every couple of minutes a full video ad takes over the screen. After 15 minutes the ad doesn't disappear and you are left with no controls and no way to continue. May your greed take everything from you. I deleted this app and will never purchase or use any of your apps again.

I’ve had this app for years. It definitely was better before but now there are so many ads it’s not even funny. When I go to use the app I usually switch through a couple channels and even though I just had an ad I get another one because I switched channels and if the channel doesn’t load so I back out and go into the channel again there’s another ad. Like I get it I’m using a free app but the amount of ads is just ridiculous. So far I like to Scanner because it’s easy to use and looks nice. All transmissions received are clear but although it says it’s a free app it practically insists on me paying for it and makes it difficult to get to the actual scanner to hear. I understand that for the full app, I should pay for it but it’s hard to even get one use out of it because of the way it’s set up to make you pay for it. So now I’ll give it a four out of five stars.

I’ve been using this app for AGES. Long story short the ads have gotten beyond intrusive. I don’t mind a short ad just when I open the app, or banner ads at all. Informed is best
I’ve used this scanner app before to keep track of critical incidents where I am at the moment and the area where I live. It’s better to know what’s going on in case you can help or even know when an imminent threat exists, and someone starts knocking on the door, you either need to keep the door locked.
