Unbiased, relevant and truthful news
I read CNN, New York Times, and The Guardian. If I had to choose one paper to read, it would be the Guardian. The Guardian reports the news as it is. It is not influenced by any sponsors at all. Many important things, unreported in the news organizations, are reported by The Guardian. Thank you for your great reporting.

Mediocre app
As apps go, this one could use some work. The content is wonderful, superb, at times the best anywhere, and easily among the best on a given day. The navigation within the app is dreadful. For example, there is no way to navigate from football tables directly to fixtures, the user must reverse directions to previous pages. It’s just one example, but it happens in every section. Also, opening the search tool requires several touches, “search” should be available on every displayed page of the app.

While traveling over the years throughout Europe and Mexico, I've been able to see first hand from a perspective outside the US what the term 'ugly American' really means. Valuable Perspectives Worth Considering
All narratives of current events are “biased” to some degree and The Guardian is no exception. However it’s worth noting that they do make consistent efforts to present reporting in a more “ balanced” framework than most news outlets and they present a valuable perspective from domestic English Language domestic news outlets to provide a sense of how American looks to the rest of the world which is information unavailable from most other sources. Useless - mandatory sign-in
I’d kept a subscription going to support one of the few non-rubbish news sources, but it seems they will prioritise customer profiling and the generation of marketing intelligence in their cash flow model so maybe they don’t need subscribers. Apparently you can be the customer *and* the product at the same time. I’ve cancelled my subscription. Sadly, that still means last 8 month of subscription down the drain. You can read headlines. On students at York university complaining about ‘southerners ‘ making them feel estranged is absolute nonsense and made me very angry. I love The Guardian and trust it as a news source in an ever eroding landscape of journalism. The user experience of the app would be greatly improved if there was a function to view article history. I rarely finish an article in one sitting and if I am away for too long or close the app I have no way of finding that article easily again without doing a search. Masterful coverage
The Guardian doesn’t block the public with pay walls and doesn’t solicit advertising and global news coverage is excellent. As a US citizen, trained from birth to appreciate capitalism, I don’t understand how that’s possible. However, I do maintain accounts with the NYT, local news, and the Guardian. If financially necessary, I would drop them in that order. Kudos to the Guardian!

Thank you for allowing customizationbofbthebjome page by picking sections we want to focus on. Also, I appreciate that the app shows a green check mark to more easily see which articles I have read. Now that articles remain on sites for days, it’s annoying to scroll through the same articles I’ve seen/read/no interest many times. Graying out articles or removing them all together would allow more even more efficient review of articles. I may even read more articles if I didn’t need to spend time rapid scrolling/skipping through previously read articles over and over again.

That $4.99 / month subscription fee is misleading. I think i was asked to pay more than that, forget how much. Then abruptly the fee was doubled. It lets us remove sections that don't have a Hide button — and even better, to delete them entirely from the screen! 1️⃣ We're still disappointed in the new design, though. You've abandoned a clean, inviting, headline-news focused layout that had variety. Imposing a scrolling set of articles and columnists at the top was distracting, especially as there wasn't a Hide button or a reminder of the Settings option to delete it. It’s exhausting the follow the news these days and even more exhausting when you find out the people telling you the news are manipulating you in every direction. I first found The Guardian in print while on a visit in the UK, and the closest thing I could compare it to was the New York Times but so much better. 15 years later, looking back, I feel very certain saying that no other news organization would have informed me as well, and as broadly across the globe, as The Guardian. So many typos
Over just the past few years, the number of typos have increased and some of the articles seem to be written in a dumbed down way or even potentially partly written by AI? All I can say is that the quality has gone down in the writing style, and the typos don’t help. I also paid for this app, but on the website, I keep getting pop ups to pay even more or subscribe and pay an additional fee to stop the pop ups. Not worth buying if I’m just going to have to pay a second time just to read the news on my laptop. I can get the same news written in more sophisticated language without typos from the

I literally just read ‘No one wants to pay $25 for breakfast’ and I went to the in-app subscriptions link to give you my money. But $100? Just like I’m not paying $25 for breakfast, I’m not spending $100 on subscribing to your app when I can read articles online for free. This article, on your own platform, talks about consumers stretching their pennies. Maybe developers need to read the articles before coming up with subscription amounts. You’re literally driving people away.

Not possible to share access
My wife and I share subscriptions to various media. She purchased a subscription to the guardian, and there is no way to access the guardian she purchased with her Apple ID on my devices unless I sign out of my Apple ID on my device and sign in to her Apple ID. This is the only media that requires this, and we find it difficult unreasonable. As the subscription was for a year, that means that I do mot have access to the guardian for a year until we cannot allow this to renew. Very disappointing.

Excellent investigative journalism, and opinion articles with clear sources and contextual proof for news an international team reports worldwide. Independent journalism with full integrity thus objectivity, seem only possible if there's no stakeholder agenda laying underneath. All media owned by billionaires and/or wealthy shareholders have pivoted to infotainment and sensationalism to keep their audiences glued to their platforms ; that is in the best cases… in the worst case those platforms have become propaganda machines for the political agendas of their owners.

App occasionally shows the wrong article
I have an iPhone 11. The issue generally happens with less prominent articles that are arrayed horizontally. When I touch an article in order to read it in full, I am presented with the wrong article. I haven’t been able to determine conclusively whether restarting the app resolves the issue. I don’t think it does, at least not consistently.

Great content UI needs rework.
I love the guardian but the app often stutters and even completely freezes sometimes. I’m guessing that it’s just way too many pictures and maybe too many elements. I highly suggest/request that the developers look at the at The Atlantic app which has by far the best design or even the times. I don’t really care about pictures I’m much more interested in text delineation and fonts.

Register or be denied access.
I downloaded the Guardian app recently to see how well it works and determine if the quality of both the app and the journalism was worth my time and financial support. Today I was presented an ultimatum, either share my personal info for data mining, ie: “curated ads and content” or not be allowed further use of the app. I have no problem with generalized ads or the requests for financial support but targeted ads is simply google like doublespeak for violating my privacy and selling my data and identity. It’s Getting Worse
After refreshing and returning on iPad tapping on articles on the main page either does nothing or opens the wrong article. It is difficult to tap on the saved articles selector, and when successful they take overly long to load. Layout moves pictures vertically away from the related article next to unrelated articles which causes visual confusion. Update: still very frequently opens the wrong article when tapped on iPad. They just don’t care enough to fix this. Won’t be renewing paid annual subscription
