Have played and enjoyed this game for years. Prior glitches were always fixed and it just kept chugging along. Never went for the paid prescription, and didn’t mind the ads that popped up after every round. The developer deserved to make money somehow. But now all of a sudden, an ad pops up after every second move or so. Thought maybe it was just a weird glitch so kept playing for a while. But that seems to be the price of the ad supported version now. Not for me. If the developer was hoping that would encourage me to buy a paid subscription, they were wrong. I deleted it.

One suggestion
I’ve had this app for years and have racked up over 172 hour of gameplay. It’s simple but keeps you coming back. I just wish it was a one time payment to get rid of ads instead of an annual subscription. I would gladly pay $15 once given how much I use the app. I guess everything is a scheme to get money out of you perpetually nowadays.

It’s “classic” sudoku for me
I have newer switched to the paid-membership-customize-everything model, thanks to reviews. I purchased the game once to not see the adds and happily playing since then. It has everything i need: the right amount of color, adding “draft” numbers, logically solvable puzzles, etc. I always playing “hard.” somehow “expert” often gets me in a dead end situations where I have to guess and then calculate my future steps to see if it’s a pass forward or wrong guess The latest update - all the squares now have the same color numbers. Best app, with a glaring issue
This is by far the best sudoku app out there, both in interface AND in challenge (most apps don’t have enough challenging puzzles). The one glaring issue is that I will absolutely 100% NEVER pay a yearly subscription for an app. If this was a flat $10-$15 fee I’d absolutely pay it. Yearly subscription? Never. And it’s almost enough to make me delete the app and use a different one.

Good game with one bug
The board is clear to play without distractions. It’s the version I like to play the most. A bug in the game is that when you press reset the board clears but you can’t use any numbers that were on the board before the reset which makes the reset useless. You just need to press the back button and start a new game.

Since updating, all the numbers are black. In the original version the given numbers were in black, but the ones you typed in were in blue. Now they are all black. If I have to back track, it makes it easier to see where I started.

The new green is way too hard on the eyes. It needs to be darker like it was before. Also I’m not a fan of the new font. The button changes are fine and so are the interface changes. Both are fine but not better. New colors definitely worse. Please consider changing the font colors back.

Sudoku: I really like this implementation of Sudoku on both the iPad and iPhone better than any of the others on the market. Solitaire: I want to notify the developers of Solitaire on the iPhone that their last release has only 51 cards, making it impossible to win. I wish I didn’t have to click through “what’s new” every time I come back to the game. New version: Glad to see it is so much like the old version. The only thing I miss is that when you place a value, it is not a different color from the values that were initially supplied by the app. That was really helpful in the old version.

The best Sudoku app I've come across
Pleased to say that my concern (and that of others) has been addressed and I can honestly say that it’s the best no frills (my preference) Sudoku app out there. [Old review] Paid to have an ad-free experience ages ago in what was truly a five-star game. How are these ads for a subscription popping up all the time not some form of advertising? Looking elsewhere at the moment but will check every now and then to see if this abomination is gone.

Unfortunately, with all of the ads, this game isn’t as good as it used to be. you can’t do any of the features on a phone because it crams everything off screen to fit in the ads. Best sudoku game
I have tried many sudoku games. This is the best user experience of them all. Very well done. 4 stars instead of 5 because it’s a little buggy. Right now I can’t even play a game for more than 10 seconds before it freezes up on me and I have to quit and relaunch the app. I trust they’ll get it fixed quickly

Several bugs still remain in the app. -App stops responding to user input when certain ads are displayed. -The “feature” which disables the numeric button for any number you’ve completed makes it so that you can’t remove any notes you still have in other cells for that figure. -Reseting the board doesn’t reenable any numeric buttons that were disabled.

Freezes badly
This version and the version previous have issues. The game freezes. It becomes totally unresponsive to button presses. The clock continues counting, but that’s the only thing that does work. Closed the app completely. Opened it again, works for like 30 seconds then freezes again. Can’t play a game which freezes. Stinks!

Algorithm problems.
Consistently generating unsolvable grids. About 50% of the time on Hard level. Each number ends up in one of each of a nine square location to have a solvable puzzle. But when new puzzle is started, if for example there are two 8’s in center squares, the puzzle cannot be solved. I check now before I start because it is extremely annoying to go all the way through up and then find out that you are not going to be able to finish it.

Straightforward and wonderful! Only game on my phone for the past couple of years! Yet now it’s a two because they put advertisements off the wall. They will try and get you to buy other games which is really not the point of Sudoku so now they’re out for money and waste my time. In order to stop all the advertisements you have to subscribe and pay money. In the beginning, sudoku is absolutely free now it’s just free to download and pay to play.

Biggest disappointment from a recent change to the game. I’ve had it for a few years, but recently the developers’ efforts to have us look at ads makes the screen completely unresponsive for sometimes over a minute! Painful to want to play and tapping on the screen does nothing. The only way out is to quit and restart the app, This does not fix it, it merely allows to vent the upset. Finally got to the point where it no longer provided a fun distraction. Sad to let it go, I finally deleted the app from my phones.

Every time there’s an update, the app freezes all the time and it takes forever to get fixed. It is a constant freeze not just every now and then. You have to close it out and restart over and over. Would give 5 stars but due to the glitch I can't. Please fix and I'll definitely give 5 stars.

I’ve enjoyed this app for years. However, the latest update is now causing the game board to freeze up, although the clock continues to run. The only way I’ve figured out to remedy this is by closing the app out & restarting it - sometimes multiple times in the same game. I won’t be playing it much until this get fixed. Very frustrating.

I enjoyed this game for a long time but now it freezes every time an add pops up on the bottom. Frequently having to exit the game has gotten monotonous. Not only that, but when you do open it up again your most recent progress has been erased and you have to start over. I give up…. :/

I have played this game for years. It has been my go to for sudoku. Recently it has had issues with locking up during the game. Frustrating had time to finish is now meaningless if that’s a guage for you. I have written support but no reply. This is happening on iPhone 12 & 15

Ads locking up puzzles
Recently certain ads (plant sales?) cause the puzzle to lock and my only option is to clear the app from memory and start over. It’s been a fun way to spend a few minutes but this bug is aggravating and I may just quit.

Certain ad causes game to freeze
I have played this game of sudoku for years and love it! But there is a certain medication ad (amvutta) that when it displays across the bottom—the game completely freezes until the next ad is displayed. Please fix!!

Poor development and testing of third party advertisements.
There are a number of advertisements animations that lockup user input. Resulting in not being able to enter data in the Sudoku Grid, yet the timer continues to run. This makes the game useless. Why play a game with a running timer that doesn't allow numbers to be entered into the field of play? The developers are not testing third party advertising widgets and it shows in extremely poor game experience.

Screen locks
The screen has started locking up after playing for only a minute, sometimes less. I know it is this game because it doesn’t happen on any other app. I restart my phone and it fixes the issue for a minute or two and then starts again.
