What’s New Version 2.6.2

This update from Apple will improve the functionality of this app. No new features are included. We've squished a subtle, sneaky bug. New users were unable to set an alarm, because of some permission settings in iOS 8 and newer systems. But thanks to a bug report from a user, we discovered and fixed the problem. We have also taken the chance to tidy up the typography and do a few other tweaks under the hood. The first time an alarm is set now, on new systems, QuartzClock will ask for permission to give an alarm, and remember that permission after that. You can change permission in the usual list of notifications permissions in the system settings, after that. Part of the fixes for IOS 8 and 9 mean the new version of QuartzClock no longer supports iOS 6 and earlier, but the previous version will still be available to older devices back to iOS 4.3.

Description

QuartzClock It's Just a Clock! QuartzClock is a small, elegant, iPhone/iPod touch utility that emulates LCD and LED quartz clocks. It is an ideal bedside clock — the user can lock the orientation to allow landscape mode in a dock to use the largest digits possible. Easy nightime reading for those who normally wear glasses. The clock displays are also multi-lingual, with localised days of the week and date formats. QuartzClock also has a simple alarm facility. The graphics are always rendered at the highest possible resolution and take advantage of the retina displays when they are used. A simple interaction of finger swipes lets the user choose from millions of color schemes. Built for iOS 7.1 or newer, QuartzClock uses multi-tasking, allowing for instant relaunches, and letting background processes like music to run smoothly. Best of all QuartzClock is entirely free! Enjoy!

QuartzClock 2.6 V2.6 is a maintenance update that introduces better iOS 7 appearance. Because of its common use as a bedside clock, we have kept to a black interface design as far as iOS 7 allows. v2.6 also stops a long-running and subtle bug in iOS 6 and 5 that caused QuartzClock to use more and more memory every time the colors were changed. This memory leak eventually causes hard to reproduce problems like locking up or crashing. Because it was a system ‘feature’ outside of QC’s code it took a long time to track down, sorry about that! Now the tab bar icons in iOS 5 and 6 do not change with the clock color, but it should fix those mysterious problems that happen after long periods of use.
Build 16039277v2.5.12013-08-12 17:13:37
QuartzClock 2.5.1 Some quick fixes following some quick feedback. Thanks to our users. * The Disable Auto-Lock (ScreenLock) switch is back! We are sorry for any confusion about screen locking, or Auto-Lock as iOS calls it. The new automatic system will disable Auto-Lock whenever the device is plugged in, and we meant the user to use the system preferences to turn it off manually when not plugged in. To make it easy again, we have brought back the Disable Auto-Lock setting switch in QuartzClock, and this will let you stop iOS shutting off the screen - whether the device is plugged in or not. Please be careful not to run your batteries down too often! * Some dark color settings from QuartzClock 2.0 were not possible in QuartzClock 2.5, and we have tweaked the color swipe patterns to make more of the QuartzClock 2.0 settings possible, while keeping the new B&W options. * Locking colors no longer stops double-click 12/24 hour changes.
Build 16015538v2.52013-08-07 02:59:50
QuartzClock 2.5 Thanks for all the helpful feedback, we hope you like the new version. We've polished QuartzClock, but kept it simple. We've squashed some bugs as well. * The 12/24 hour display settings are now stored safely, so it will remember the settings. * The colors can now be locked, so accidental bumps won't spoil things. * The color selection patterns have been tweaked, new colors are now possible -- including high contrast B&W settings. * QuartzClock is better at sensing if the power is connected or not, and will allow the system autolock to work while unplugged, and disable it when plugged, in automatically. * plus some other small adjustments...
Build 8571557v2.02012-06-17 23:32:16
QuartzClock 2.0 It's not just a clock! New: * Multi-lingual weekday and AM/PM display options * Simple single and daily alarms, with countdown display * Alarms work even if QuartzClock is not running at the time! * Support for iPad/iPad retina displays * Flashing dots control! Requires iOS 4.0 or newer.
