There is a new option to pause after each trick. This also fixes a rare bug that would render the AI unable to make a play.

All I know is that Tichu might very well be the world's best card game. Tichu is a partnership game for four players where partners battle to be the first to play all of their cards and score points. Each hand is filled with strategy and risk. Will you be the first player to play all of your cards? Perhaps you'd like to make a little wager on that? Are you willing to risk 100 points? How about 200? Tichu has long been the favorite card game of all time on BoardGameGeek. Find out why! I promise that you won't regret it! Tichu boasts the following great features: Fully licensed and authorized by designer Urs Hostettler and publisher Fata Morgana Spiele. A way has been found to migrate player statistics from the old game! Your stats should be migrated to the new game automatically with this update, provided you have not uninstalled the game since November. A button has been added to the single player Game Over screen which can be used to review the game log and copy it to the clipboard in case you want to save it or share it. Some of the UI has been adjusted to look better in portrait mode than it did before. Various minor gameplay bugs have been squashed.
Build 880127409v2.0.472025-12-04 07:07:59
The layout of some controls has been improved, particularly when the game is played in portrait mode. The Play button location can be configured in the settings dialog to appear on the left or the right side or in the center of the playfield. Double-tap card selection is back by popular demand. You can enable it in the settings dialog. Several new table styles are available in the settings dialog and the default table has been changed to something less busy. Gameplay pacing has been slightly adjusted to make the play a little easier to follow. If you have comments or suggestions for future improvements, please send us an email! We'd love to hear from you.
Build 880003008v2.0.452025-11-24 09:19:07
Fix for people stuck entering their name.
Build 873163654v2.0.442025-11-19 12:33:32
This is an all new version of Tichu built from the ground up using a modern platform independent gaming engine. The original, best in class AI engine has been painstakingly updated and ported to a new platform independent implementation. Along the way it has been improved. The original 2010 version had five distinct difficulty settings but, due to processing limitations, the "best" difficulty setting needed to cheat by giving it exact knowledge of which cards were held by each player. (This was never a secret. I went to great pains NOT to hide this fact.) This new version does not cheat! Processors have improved to the point that I was able to create a "best" difficulty setting that is good enough to outplay the "better" setting 2 out of 3 times, all other things being equal. With the original version, I used to recommend that human players not choose the "best" setting for their partner because its perfect knowledge would sometimes encourage it to make unexpected choices. This is no longer necessary. Go ahead and choose "best" for your partner if you want. I won't promise it will always make the choices you expect, but I can promise it will be a better experience than it would have been with the original version. I have made a few other changes to the game's presentation in order to modernize the experience and make it more accessible. Settings have been simplified a bit. A clear distinction has been made between multiplayer and single player games. Save slots have been eliminated in order to streamline and simplify the experience. AI settings can no longer be changed in the middle of a game but the benefit is that it's now much easier to manage game settings and there is less opportunity for players to subtly manipulate rankings (read "cheat"). I've also added an option to ban bombing out of turn, which speeds up game play by removing the need to wait for potential bombs at the end of a trick. Hopefully you will be as excited by all of these changes as I am. Now you can enjoy playing Tichu on almost any computer or device you like! Steve Blanding steve@housefullofgames.com
