Pocket Frogs: Tiny Pond Keeper

I remember downloading this game when I got my first 1 iPhone back in the 2010’s and my dad and I would bond over this game together. I love that it’s still running to this day. I see the updates the developers add every once in a while. My dad past in 2019. So being able to play this game makes me feel close to him. Also no adds! You have no idea how much of a breath of fresh air that is. It makes it such a fun and calm experience.

Pocket frogs is a game that I have been playing for 13 years. I have always loved the simplistic design of the frogs, and how you could just play how you wanted when you wanted to relax and collect frogs, as well as share any ones you found pretty with your friends. I just loved that there weren’t really too many rules or restrictions and that you could really just play however you wanted. When I started seeing pocket frogs having more updates with new frogs and new quality of life updates I was ecstatic. It felt like a long time comfort game of mine was being rejuvenated. I played this game on an old ipod or iphone (cant remember which) when i was a kid, and i loved it. i downloaded it again maybe a year or two ago, and this game is still amazing! i was honestly shocked it was still being updated but im so glad. im giving this game 5 stars for the new meadow alone. its SO delightful!! this is the best update so far, thank you devs. i have 1,000 stamps right now, and i know im about to burn through all of them so quickly haha

I started playing this game on the first iPad when I was 15, now I’m 30 and still going! There have been many major “quality of life” updates that make me soooo happy, and it’s one of the very rare mobile games that you actually don’t NEED to spend money on. The VIP package is 100% worth it, but it’s definitely not necessary to play. It’s beautiful, great for all ages, and super fun for completionists too!

I’ve never reviewed an app but this game NEEDS more good reviews, unironically I think it’s a masterpiece. It’s very playable - in the sense that it doesn’t have any ads you don’t want to watch, and it’s not one of those where they keep pressuring you to pay money. Of course you can, but it is absolutely not necessary to get the full experience. After so many years the devs are still constantly working to improve player experience, and it still feels fun even after hours. I’ve had this game for years and I’ll play and then forget it for awhile and come back and it’s always better and better. They continually update it and the game today is even better than when I originally downloaded it. It’ll take forever to complete your froggy dex but that’s the point.

I love this game. It’s interesting how everyone plays a little differently and I love that over time your game strategy can change with your goals. I do wish there were more awards, Ive almost completed all of them. But the sets give you similar assignments to keep that going once you run out. I did notice that for some reason not all of the awards sync to Apple Games achievements, but that’s not a big deal. Just kind of odd.

This is my favorite game of favorite games. Sad thing is I don’t feel like I can interact and do things with my frogs. I love the pods and the races. I was hoping that you could add a feature for a more interactive racing. Or battling. Or more perilous pod. Better rewards but at the risk of the frog getting hurt or dying and being lost.

I used to play this on my ipod touch or whatever so imagine my surprise when I realized it still gets updates to this very day 😭😭 redownloaded a bit ago and it’s sooooo fun, perfectly challenging and takes my mind off things. Works without wifi too so it’s great for flights or road trips

I think I started playing this game like 14 years ago. When I was younger, I just liked to play with the frogs but now I'm trying to complete everything. There's sooo much content. The upgrade is so cheap and there's no ads unless you want them. This is one of my comfort games and I can't stop coming back to it. You can't find phone games like this anymore. :)

I remember playing this game on my aunt Gillian’s first or second generation iPhone recently got realized that it’s been 20 years and I could now spend the $20 it cost to get VIP now I’m going through and slowly filling out froggydex and the one thing I wish we could do is change the order of the frogs when you’re looking at all your habitats I have three habitats of all the possible primary colors and they’re all mixed up and I wish I could order them

Been playing this for years and it’s a FUN game and nice to see some new updates recently but you’re now going to insist on CASH$$$ payments to increase our habitats. The “in game” coins we earn has always paid for this but now you’re changing the rules. In this economy you’re making it hard to want to continue to play. Please reconsider and don’t get greedy!!

15 years and it’s still fun! It’s been used by my nieces and nephews, we trade frogs here and there, and they are adding new updates, new frogs, better features. I really really like that they have one option to just get every special enhancement at once, and it’s not a subscription, it’s a real one time charge. I did it 15 years ago, and every new cool bonus, like double scenery works for me. I really love the way they manage this game, I hate subscriptions.

This game is so perfectly classic, especially in terms of monetization. Ads are entirely optional, and you can do a one-time payment to upgrade your game permanently. No having to buy stupid “gems” or any other premium currency for features. The only microtransactions are buying frogs directly. I’m so so happy this game keeps getting updated. It’s truly one of the best, especially for someone who loves animal raising/breeding games. I’ve been playing since iPads first came out. Can’t recommend it enough.

I loved this game already 12 years ago, the frogs are such a delight to watch, collect and interact with. I dropped out for a bit, recently wanted to come back, my progress and frogs were gone… but the heroes of the customer support team managed to get them back despite the changes that happened with how accounts are saved. This is one of those games that has endured way over a decade and is still around today. I play it off and on and it’s nice that your progress is saved. Outstanding customer support! They waste no time in replying. In fact, I got replies within a few minutes AND not automated ones either. It’s one of those games I got hooked on! Playing again and reliving the enjoyment. I love this game so much. I used to play it years ago when I was a little girl on my dad’s work iPad. I was pleased to come back to this game as an adult and see that it was exactly the same as I remembered. It’s incredibly addicting and fun, and the frogs are so cute and colorful. Collecting them is my favorite pastime. You can thoroughly enjoy this game without spending any money as well, which I really appreciate. Also no ads, unless you specially choose to watch an ad for a reward which I also appreciate. Overall, super fun game and kid friendly!

I have played pocket frogs for years and it's still one of my favorite mobile games. However, it's really a bummer how monetized it's become. The ability to earn exp and other resources has been really nerfed from classic pocket frogs, and it's full of ads. If you just play it a couple minutes at a time, it's fine. But if you want to get anywhere now - you have to spend money.

I’m so happy to see the latest update on the 15th anniversary. I loved the app so much in the early years, and introduced it to friends and their kids who loved it too. Then recently some big things changed: a new AI-looking icon, a sudden excess of intrusive ads. It felt like the app had lost its soul. I’ve been a fan of this simple game for years. I love my frog collection. But, I’m losing patience with your greed. 2-minutes ads? Really? It’s ridiculous. It’s bad enough when I have to sit through them because I’ve chosen to to earn a reward, but now they pop up when I simply move from one habitat to another. In addition, while the ad lengths have increased, the rewards have decreased. Who would have thought that shrinkflation would hit the game. Two minute ads for one potion or stamp is absurd. I don’t’t even bother. Soon I won’t even bother with the game anymore.

Last night I was feeling nostalgic and downloaded the app only to see it uses AI art as the app icon. This is very disappointing, especially since the original icon, while nostalgic, had also fit the style of the game. Now, I must say, the game itself is great. Honestly this game is simple and straight forward. The best part of it tbh is it’s a classic iOS game experience. It hasn’t fallen into the trap so many other apps fell in. It’s not changed basically a bit but it’s still running smoothly with added content. The UI, resolution, gameplay, etc is all old school though. It’s honestly so refreshing.

My sister and I have been playing this game for years off and on, and I love that not much has changed. We love this game so much! Obviously over the years they have taken some stuff out, along with adding some new stuff in.
