Description

Big red LED digits allow you to see the timer even at great distance so you are free to move while you give the talk of your life. SpeakerClock emulates the famous countdown clock that all speakers at TED conferences need to adhere to. Start the clock and place it within your view when giving a public talk to see at a glance how much speaking time you have remaining. The "traffic light" gives you visual feedback when it's time to wrap up or make your closing remarks. Use it for actual public speeches or train with it for the fateful day when you too get the call to speak on important issues. "Personally I use SpeakerClock when timing the recording of YouTube videos. This way I never run over the maximum 10 minutes there and the "traffic light" helps me nail my closing arguments every time!"

Dismal...No Help or Explanation
I paid for this app. There is no instruction for using different times. There is no "help" section for the site. There is no direction on how to start the noted time of 18 mins. I regret that this seems to be a fraudulent app.

Love it!
I can't remember what I paid for this app... maybe $2.99 and then $4.99 to get the additional presets. Love this App! To get a true speaker timer app to output a speaker clock feed over HDMI to SDI into a show monitor for your speakers on stage and have it on any monitor size of your choice is worth over $100 (what you would pay to rent a speaker timer). The app is easy to use. Swipe the mouse to set your desired time. Click and hold on your preset to store it and be able to refresh at will. And simply click to start. Basic app but love to use it on shows and the speakers on stage love it

Only needs one thing
I’m a speaker who can be a little long winded. I’ve used this app for years with no problems, however, I need to know how far over my time I’ve gone. I could always increase the time, but then I will just use that time as well. I want a visual that keeps track of time after my time is up. :-/

The touch to start and stop is terrible. I bought timer and upgrade for presets, it is not useable with touch problem. I tap the screen 1 to 30 times for it to respond. New ipad, this is the only app I have ever used that has touch problem. Rated 1star so I can post.

Annoying shortcomings in settings
I originally got this app because I confused with another one. Anyway, I bowed to the pressure of paying the $.99 for the 5 settings, partly because I thought that would be a great thing to have, and partly because I like to pay for useful software. However, I have found one area with the settings that annoys the heck out of me and has made me not use this app any more. It's the fact that ll my 5 presets resets to the TED time of 18 minutes between uses. Application not good. First negative thing is that it constantly asked you if you want to upgrade to more presets and there is no way of shutting the annoying message off unless you pay your $.99 additional. To me that is a very strong arm tactic that I hate. There is also no time shown negatively so when the clock hits zero you don't know how much beyond zero you have gone. It also does not have any sound warnings. Too simplistic. The instructions icon doesn't even work, just crashes the app. From what I can tell you have to drag to set the timer and it uses 15 second intervals. Start and pause have no visual indication just double clicking on the time. Seems like it takes too much effort to set the time and intervals.

This app seems buggy on my iPad 2. I purchased Pclock about a year ago and was much more impressed and was not charged to add new presets - yes, while the app costs 99 cents, you have to pay for additional presets. It had a number of good reviews, so I thought I was missing something. When I click on the "I" implying info about the app, it just shuts down. Many have mentioned that it would be nice if it counted into negative values once your time is up and I agree. Also it would be nice if the timer ran up like a stopwatch as an optional setting. Potential improvements aside it is a good ap and easily worth a dollar.
