Writer’s player recaps, player suggestions
This is an issue in NFL, NHL & MLB (those are what I’ve played since 2020). Recaps have biased opinions, snarky remarks, ridiculous spelling & grammatical errors, inaccurate recap information & terrible recommendations for future sit or play! This year for NFL I decided to take some of your sit/play and drop/pick up recommendations. Not one was a successful suggestion. They’re based on last seasons’ stats & never on current stats. I’m surprised you’ve retained some of your “experts”. Players rankings are random & lag in being current. Please consider dropping +/- in NHL. It’s not relevant to

Good customer service
This review is a follow up to my previous 2-star review. This app was going through frequent live scoring issues. I voiced my frustrations here, and soon heard back from an app developer: "We appreciate your patience while we looked into this issue. We are happy to report that we believe our engineers have fixed the problem. If you are still having trouble, please let us know." Since then, the live scoring has been working properly. I feel like I should increase the app rating for good customer service… Thank you Yahoo Fantasy!

(Update: Yahoo reverted this to a non-paid feature, so I am changing my review to a 5. While we will still consider other platforms, we won’t leave yahoo immediately because of this anymore.) I get charging for ‘insights’ with Yahoo+ but removing basic functionality to automatically put active players in your lineups for the week in hockey (and presumably basketball) and making people pay to get the feature back is just brutal. We will be moving to Fantrax for hockey, and - though it’s not impacted - Sleeper for football just on principle. For shame.

This has been by far the worst ive ever seen yahoo… at first they wanted us to pay to start for the week (which they changed due to criticism) now every IL player in basketball gets an injury report for a week then turns to a blank screen… used this app for 3 years not once has it been this annoying before… maybe hire someone who actually does their job for next year? It has been a mess this year which is unfortunate because the last 2 years there were no issues but this year? I’ve dabbled with ESPN and with CBS and SLEEPER Fantasy Football from time to time, but ultimately YAHOO has become my comfort zone. It fits very comfortably like an old pair of quality shoes. I’m in 3 YAHOO Keeper Baseball Leagues and am Commissioner in one. Bring back StatTracker
Yahoo is inarguably the best fantasy football platform. However, the new update removed the StatTracker from the iPad app, and replaced it with an inferior tracking interface. Most managers who use Yahoo, are in multiple leagues and the StatTracker allows you to track all leagues on 1 screen, while also being able to track all live NFL games/stats It’s a big factor in what makes yahoo the best platform. Gone downhill
They went from a good app to an increasingly miserable one. To start, a few people and I have been “tricked” into joining random fantasy basketball “high score” leagues (a new format yahoo is aggressively pushing). Yahoo sends pop ups within the app, and the small button to close the pop up is oh-so-conveniently located next to the big “draft now” button and boom within 4 minutes you’re in a draft/autodraft and stuck within that league. I have always been a yahoo defender, but I cannot believe that this company would stoop so low. They decided to roll out the brilliant update of locking the “stay active players” core feature behind a paywall. Not only that, but they did it right after the season started. This app has always been bad and difficult to use. From “unable to log in” errors creating perpetual loops by asking users to log in to fix the problem of not being able to log in, to entirely useless add-on services, this app has never been something to pride in. Love FF, like the App overall but it glitches quite a bit if you’re switching between players and will kick me out of the app if I do it too much. Also, you guys remove the win and loss record from the game log tab under each player. That was a really nice feature to have. I would also suggest, a more streamlined way of looking up specific information about teams or players. I find myself having to use Google or ChatGPT for certain things because while your article articles are awesome and very informative, they tend to be geared towards the broad spectrum of each week and it’s hard to search

Requiring Payment For Weekly Lineups Is Grotesque
I’ve used Yahoo fantasy sports for 20 years. I’ve managed multiple fantasy basketball teams and leagues for the past decade, and the decision to require a MONTHLY membership fee to set lineups by week is asinine and an intentional weakening of their product. If this change is permanent, I will be moving my leagues to a different service. Fantasy Basketball can be a challenge due to the number of games each week. Yahoo fantasy + (the subscription service) used to be for anyone who wants advanced stats and more information on how to potentially improve or beat their opponents. Every year Yahoo has updated the app which has made it a little less user-friendly. This year they have somehow tricked users into signing up for a fantasy basketball league. Absolutely ridiculous user experience. I accidentally joined a Yahoo Fantasy league from a pop-up ad in the app and now there is NO way to leave or delete the team. No confirmation, no undo, no support option—nothing. The draft auto-started and now I’m stuck getting constant spam notifications for a league I never asked to join. Yahoo support even admitted they won’t remove teams after a draft starts, even if it was clearly a mistake. That means Yahoo knows this is a problem and still refuses to fix it. That’s unacceptable. Two main factors for one star, this app is great for football but clearly lack of care for other sports. This app is just plain bad. Game updates are slow. Often taking 5 or more minutes to show up after they are shown on Red Zone. Points show up under My Team, but not under matchup. That’s what you need on game days. Ugh! Why am getting roster alerts telling me a player is out when he got hurt in the middle of the game. I CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. So, stop. Fantasy Football Draft Debacle
My friends and I had a draft last night and yahoo botched the draft order causing the 7 and 8 picks to be incorrect after round 1 causing us to have to pause the draft during those picks to insure each person drafted the correct players. Love everything about Yahoo Fantasy Football/Baseball except new message system for league. We used to have active chat on league page, now very rare activity. No one ever goes to league chat page any longer. Pain to access. Better when old message group was directly on league page. First of all, it’s almost like free speech isn’t allowed on this platform. Sure there’s the ppl that get weirdly political, but you can’t say ANY negative words unless it’s something like “i don’t like this guy”. You literally cannot type out the words “this guy is boring”. This has been a pretty reliable app in past seasons. I don’t know what happened this year, but the app freezes up 5-6 per day. There’s no excuse for that. The new UI seems to put focus on news and scores, while minimizing actual fantasy features. This used to have Team/Matchup/Player/League navigation on the always accessible bottom menu, but they have been replaced with Home/News/Scores. This sounds minor, but when searching for players or clicking any item in League, I can no longer toggle back to Team/Matchup/Player/League without exiting back to the root menu.
