Essential for efficient shopping
Grocery Gadget is essential for my monthly shopping. I live in a rural area and travel to the city monthly to shop at Costco and other stores as needed. I shop for myself and 2-3 others. This app makes these shopping trips easy and efficient. I wouldn’t be without it. When my income was reduced I ended most subscriptions, but Grocery Gadget is well worth the annual fee.

“I cannot cannot enter remarks for an item. When clicking on that field, no keyboard is activated.” I have been waiting almost a year for them to fix this problem. I wrote about this in June 2024 and they promised to address it. In spite of my follow ups. nothing has happened. It’s a good app when it works. It would be nice if we have a choice about whether added items appear at the top or the bottom of the list. I don’t always purchase everything on the list, and those things I prefer to be at the bottom. Every time I add something, I have to manually move it to the top, and that’s a real time waster.

It serves the basic purpose of a grocery list, but I’d find much more utility and LOVE the ability to sort Categories (eg Bakery, Produce, etc…) manually so that I can arrange them in the order I move through the grocery stores. Used to absolutely love this but now all of a sudden if you search for an item in your list while in ‘prepare’ mode - INSTEAD of the item and instead of getting an “add” option an AD showing an item (I have no interest in BTW, I mean Sunset Prunes comes up when I am searching for “Ice” ?? It shows up at the TOP OF the LIST like I already have that in my master list (I do NOT) and it has selected as adding “1” ??!! WTH?! I used to recommend this app to everyone I knew it was so good. Best Shopping App!
I have been using this app for at least 10 years and I just discovered that I can have a single list with multiple stores. I enjoy the flexibility of being able to have multiple lists but being able to have a single list and see my entire shopping list for the day in one list is amazing. When my children were younger, they each had the app on their phones and we would assign specific grocery items for each child. This made shopping, fun and allowed them to participate. Love this app!

Best grocery app for me
While I do have a couple of suggestions that I submitted as feedback, the current features make this App very useful for me. I can create separate grocery lists for, say, recipes, specific stores, or events. In a list, I can sort by aisle or alphabetically, and can change the aisle and category info if needed. The pricing and taxes features are the best- so helpful for budgeting.

I’m a long time user of this app and absolutely love it!! I’ve tried many other grocery apps, but none hold a candle to the functionality and customization of this one. It helps me stay organized and on budget weekly. There is some initial setup involved, but well worth it. You can set up different stores/lists and when you add an item you can designate which stores carry it, as well as assign separate pricing per store. Barcode scanning is back!
Long time customer of the app and happy to report that adding items to list via barcode scanning is working again after a long period where it did not. Developers have been responsive over the years and the app synchs pretty well between two iPhones in the household. I’d like to see the look and feel of the app take better advantage of iOS frameworks but the overall functionality is there and keeps us using it.

I’ve been using this app for many years and it was one of my go to apps. It was just wonderful for shopping at the very stores and I regularly shop in. I have hundreds of items on my list. A couple of upgrades ago it decided to add almost every item in all my lists to the local hardware store I had recently added. And if you delete the store you delete everything in its lists, so I can’t delete it. Further I just found out I can’t add stores anymore at all. Great app, especially for real-time synchronization
I have been using this app for many years, possibly a decade. As I run out of items at home, I can grab my phone and add what I need to the Grocery Gadget app. My husband is always in and out of the grocery store, so I synchronize the list with his phone as well. If he’s at the store and I suddenly realize we need something, I can add it to the list while he’s at the store and it will populate on his phone.
