Description
The WIC program helps safeguard the health of pregnant women, infants, postpartum, and children up to 5 years who have at least one nutritional risk by providing information on healthy eating practices are elegible, referred to other health services and support and information on breastfeeding.
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a public health program that offers Education in Nutrition, Breastfeeding and Supplemental Foods.
It belongs to the Food and Nutrition Services of the Federal Department of Agriculture and in Puerto Rico is attached to the Department of Health.
