Update disappointment
Having used this news app for several years I have seen many changes. Most of the time good ones. But recent updates have removed dark mode (which is easier on my eyes) and added what seems to be a lot more advertisement block, garbage my mind has to filter out. The opening red pulsing box is also annoying to watch every time I open the app. News is moderate but only covers selective events it seems now days. Just overall disappointed with the direction this app is headed.

I have to give this app a 1-star review for the stupidest reason. The font is so small I can’t read it. If there is a way to change it I can’t find it. Do the developers even look at it before they release an app to the public?

Doesn’t fill screen when iPad is held in landscape mode
A recent update changed how I have to set my iPad when viewing this app. I generally watch with the iPad on its side because that is how my iPad cover can prop up the iPad. Now when I turn it on its side, the app only fills the middle of the screen which is too small to watch videos or live stream. PLEASE fix the app to support landscape mode!

Review of KTVB Online News Feed
I typically do not watch the news on TV as I prefer the online format. For the most part it works. However, many times the online source is repetitive, often days at a time. This may of course occur due to this online format. I especially enjoy the verify portion often discovering answers to issues I have crossed. Even though the online feed falls a little short in my opinion, it is typically the one I gravitate to. I enjoy the reporting and anchor staff at KTVB. They have been my number one source over the last 37 years.

There was a time that at 5:00 pm I would change the channel because this half hour contained no local news. Then about a year ago along came the 208 with a host who was made for this program. Brian deserves a raise and an award for bringing me back. We love this program!

To be honest I grew up on ktvb. In my personal opinion has me uninterested in the app. Far too many ads per video. Ads consume 60% of the videos to get to the video of 20% sports and weather. 20% news.

App issues
I love KTVB but hate the app. The app does that obnoxious thing that other streaming platforms used to do where the show volume is low then they turn up the ad volume. You can’t do picture in picture and you can’t cast the show for more than two minutes without it glitching and stopping the stream. I’ve had the app for years and there’s been no improvements on the platform. Bummer.

Steaming Hot Garbage
I have no idea how this app has such a high rating, apart from folks having extremely low standards. The UI is trash, ads are EVERYWHERE and take over your screen, tapping on a notification often goes nowhere but to the main loading page, the search function barely works, and the stories have LOADS of grammatical errors, which distract you from the topic. I mean, if they can’t be bothered to check their own grammar with all the tools we have these days, can you really trust the content? It’s just a trashy app. Don’t believe me? Political stories are all very left leaning if not outright complete leftist propaganda
The app is ok. Not as much content or local resources as you might like for a small local news station’s app. The main problem is the same problem with the news station, only it’s organized more pervasively on the app. Their political commentary is so lopsided. They don’t even attempt to put forward an unbiased commentary on the political stories, which makes it useless for that kind of news.

The only place I go for local news. I do get frustrated when all the news stations fail to report on important issues like the recent raid at Hometown Motors in Weiser. You should be protecting the consumer not the advertiser. Other than that you rock.

CBS 2 is Better
I have been using this app for years and have always been frustrated with it (it was good a few years back). The same old stories stay on the newsfeed for weeks, searching is impossible, and where is the traffic?! Layout is overall awful. Love KTVB but the app is just not good. Just downloaded the cbs 2 app and it seems to be way more user friendly.

KTVB Good except for relentless ads
I’m enjoying streaming KTVB news in the morning, but the same ads play every time and it has become like torture. I have to turn the volume off on my phone when they come on. The one about Mom Squad is the most offensive. Then the one with the music playing “Never gonna let ya go” Please, please, please change the commercials! There are also way too many! But at least just get some new ads. Otherwise, I like the newscasters and the weatherman. It’s a good program.

Great app for a great news station & source!!
I will not watch any other local news station for Idaho news…and I prefer KTVB over national news’s outlets in some cases too!! The app is better than national news apps too! Easy to navigate and notifications are reliable. I have a friend in CA watching the UogI murder story closely and I send her the link to a story update saying “ KTVB is pretty much the primary news source in Idaho...good app to follow and sign up for notifications too...that's how I got this one... of course there are other sources...but KTVB tends to be the main news source for Idaho...if you were interested 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷
