This app is great for all your indoor plant. I live in the driest and coldest place. Well, maybe not the coldest place I live in the Rocky Mountains. The weather can be four different. Seasons in one day so sometimes I get confused a plant that looks sick to me could be perfectly healthy and a plant that looks healthy to me can be sick and I like the fact this tells you what you need to do. Misleading advertisements

The advertisements for this app are misleading and harmful. Many of the clips in the ads are clearly AI generated. This means when they show you a before and after, it’s completely made up. The plants and people in the ads don’t even exist. Furthermore, the ads promote the idea that you can magically fix decaying plants by administering sugar, baking soda, and even cola. Once a plant has begun to severely wilt or even decay, it’s not really possible to miraculously restore the plant material with some magic secret ingredient from your pantry. The best plant care involves water and fertilizer.

I love this app. You take a picture. PictureThis identifies within seconds, depending on your internet connection. No internet? No problem, it will retain your picture to provide an identification when you return to internet. You don’t have to be a great photographer. You don’t have to take one perspective. It even has a boosted ID using a 360° perspective. It will identify a tree from a total picture of the tree or a branch with a leaf. Identification by just the bark seems a little less accurate. I have been using PictureThis (the free version) for a few years now and I love it! I’m really surprised this app has this many high ratings. First of all this app is trying to charge money tell me that every single one of my plants has a transmittable fungal infection when going and doing other research about the subject suggests this is completely wrong. I love picture this so much! It works with and without a subscription, though the subscription is amazing and cheap and I would highly recommend it. Wonderful app

Like something out of Star Trek. Like the “tri-corder” that could identify all life around it. Not quite as evolved, but this is pretty advanced for our time. I’m using it to learn all about plants in my vicinity: what are herbs, what are weeds, what they can be used for. You can store them into certain garden files to keep track of them. Very Impressive

I do not write reviews. Ever. But, I had to make an exception in this case. I have used this app for a while now and it has always been correct. I did a trial against another plant app, Seek by iNaturalist to see which was better at plant identification. PictureThis was correct 5 out of 5 times. Not getting what I expected

I had high hopes for this app. I’ve used the paid subscription for 2 years, but will not renew again. I cannot figure out if the problem is user error (aka “me”) or if the app just doesn’t do what it claims. I know great plant people (Master Gardeners) who use the app, but I have never been able to successfully use it for watering schedules or diagnosing plant issues. I just switched back to this app after letting it lapse so I could try the free SEEK/iNaturalist apps. The after latter could not identify about a third of the plants I scanned and had no care info. This app identifies standard plants pretty well, but any slight variation or even just slightly more unusual species that you can still find out a box store, and it tells you your plant is sick or misidentifies it completely. A lot of people have uploaded photos of plants to the incorrect identification, which I’m guessing causes the AI to get confused. I have used this often and I would say it's accurate at least 75% of the time. Maybe more. Sometimes it will say a patch is different (maybe called it different weeds and or called it different grasses). Not great. And usually it is one of what it says. Tried this out on my phone first and was supremely disappointed because I've heard a lot of hype about this app. It's ok for giving you a general identification, but fails to identify specific varieties. I am a long time user of this app, but very frustrated. I reported a problem in 2023 for watering reminders that don’t work right. They responded that a fix in was coming soon. It still isn’t fixed in 2025 and I think it’s even worse. It’s telling me plants I watered yesterday are now one day late on watering. I have used this app for years and it has always been helpful in simply identifying plants and telling me a few things about them with the basic free version. But it wasn’t until I finally upgraded and paid for the subscription that I got SO much more use out of it. I’ve been using Picture This for a few months. I don’t use it for watering schedule or rely on it for disease identifying which doesnt seem to be very accurate. What I want is a way to keep track of all of my plants in a photo library with general info and care recommendations. I like PictureThis except it often IDs plants incorrectly, and will only let you correct the name if the plant happens to be in their database. I would say this app is accurate in identifying plants about 85% of the time. I’ve noticed it struggles with fungi the most; and to get the most accurate identification, it needs pictures of stem, root, and flower - the whole thing. Fantastic! Watering reminder UI poorly designed

Hello! I love this app, pay for it, use it all the time for plant identification and recommend it to many people. However - this is small but drives me crazy multiple times a week - please please fix the watering reminders UI - it is very poorly designed. Here’s the issue: the watering reminder pops up in tiny pale green font 3 days ahead of time. It counts down daily, but by then the brain has already tuned out the reminder since it’s not due yet.
