Description
The 112mt mobile app offers an efficient means by which citizens interact and feel a sense of inclusivity in the community while enabling closer collaboration with the departments concerned. The 112mt mobile app provides the facility to request assistance or enables a citizen’s contribution to society. This goal is achieved through the following characteristics:
• Call or SMS (including non verbal assistance using pictograms) the 112 Public Safety Answering Point (devised as a Panic button trigger)
• Localisation service once contact is established with the emergency services
• Reporting instances based on the following categories:
o Crime Reporting complete with photo uploads
o Information
o Reporting Lost items
• Contact details including the location of sites of Police, Fire stations, Army and Health Centres
• News based on the following features:
o Wanted and Missing Persons
o Notices

When the citizens update their existing build, or performs a new installation, they have the option to register their mobile number so that once contact is established with the emergency services they can be located. The localisation process requires a few simple steps, mainly to provide the mobile number and input the PIN number received by SMS on the mobile number provided. The registration process is expected to be completed with a few seconds.
Once the process is completed, a FlagMii icon ( ) will be visible on the home screen (located top left) and this will provide the details of the registered mobile number together with the timestamp of registration.
When the citizen contacts the emergency services through the emergency SMS number from a registered mobile number, the citizen immediately receives an SMS back with a URL link by the operator. This URL link will open a direct messaging channel for further communication between the emergency services operator and the citizen.
Should the citizen choose to stop the emergency localisation service, the citizen can remove the functionality by a click of a button. The unregister button can be accessed through the screen that follows when user clicks on the FlagMii icon.
The previous functionality of the 112mt APP has remained the same.
