Build 839794181v3.0.02020-12-29 20:42:26
This app’s updated version offers many feature enhancements versus the original offering, plus new features for navigating every day and emergencies with food allergies.
The original app was a 100% subscription-based and required users to purchase a paid subscription to access the app. The updated app allows users to access many features for free. If users would like to access additional paid features, they can upgrade to a paid monthly or yearly subscription.
Enhancements (free features)
1. Allergy Profile: The original app allowed users to manage an allergy profile with 12 pre-populated allergens plus 5 unique allergens, or 17 total. The updated version lets users manage up to 24 different food allergies—12 of the most common ones plus 12 unique. The allergy profile enables user-specific customization of results.
2. Epinephrine and Antihistamine Expiration Tracking: With the original app users could track expiration dates for 5 epinephrine auto injectors. With the new version, users can track expiration dates for up to 8 auto injectors plus up to 5 antihistamine medications.
3. Restaurant Allergy Explanation Card: The original app allowed users to send an email or text to restaurants to explain their food allergies in 11 languages. The new version gives users the option to print out their allergy explanation, in addition to emailing or texting it, in 21 languages.
4. Emergency Contact Messaging: The original app allowed users to text emergency contacts when they make 911 calls from the app. In the updated app, users can choose to send prepared text —either their own custom text or standard text— and a map with their location when they call 911.
5. Allergic Reaction Response Guide: The original app provided a guide to help users determine the correct steps to take to manage an allergic reaction. In the new version the guide is reorganized to improve ease of use in an emergency.
6. Allergic Reaction Diary & History: The original app offered a diary for users to record and save details of their allergic reactions. Now users can add a photo of the reaction to their reaction history, and can email or print their history for their allergist.
7. Community: The app’s community feature has been upgraded to deliver a better user experience.
New Features
1. Pop-up Navigation: The Home Page now includes a pop-up navigation device so users can find high utility features quickly and easily. (free feature)
2. Recipe Search: The app now offers a ‘Recipe Search’ that allows users to find recipes that work for their allergy profiles. Users can save their favorite recipes and share them. (paid feature)
3. Hospital Finder: The app now offers an ‘Hospital Finder’ to help users quickly locate the nearest ER. Users can call or get directions from the app. (paid feature)
4. Pharmacy Finder: The app now offers an ‘Pharmacy Finder’ to help users quickly locate the nearest open Pharmacy. Users can call or get directions from the app. (paid feature)
5. Epi Injector Reminder: Users must keep their epinephrine within arm’s reach at all times, whether at home or away from home. With the app’s ‘Epinephrine Injector Reminder’ users can set time-based and location-based reminders to take their epinephrine with them. (free feature)
6. Friends and Family Food Allergy Explanation: One of the biggest challenges for users is clearly and consistently explaining their food allergies to others. The app now offers a ‘Friends and Family Food Allergy Explanation’ that users can email or print to explain their food allergies to others. (free feature)
7. Food Preparation Guide: Users sometimes trust others to prepare their food. The ‘Food Preparation Guide’ walks people who will prepare food for a user through the things they must consider and do to ensure that the food they make is safe to eat. (paid feature)
8. Blog: The app now includes a ‘Blog’. (free feature)
