The first app I open in a storm
This is the first app I open during a storm. Seeing how close the lightning strikes are is sometimes more practical than seeing full radar in another weather app. My kids also really like to see how close the lightning strikes are when they hear big thunder.

Sometimes glitchy
I would give this app 4 stars but there are 2 issues with it. 1) it’s somewhat glitchy and won’t always show the radar and I need to reload it and 2) the name of the body of water between Florida and Mexico is called the GULF OF MEXICO! Please correct this error. We don’t need to make weather apps political.

Please make it great again?
This app used to be awesome. But maybe because it’s free and there’s a pro version this free version will no longer allow a person to silence the alarms, or even lower the alarm volume. When lightning strikes the alarm is on full blast and startles every one. There’s no way to lower the sound. And no way to even test which sound one wants to choose, a fairly standard thing to offer. Thank goodness it did not alarm for each of the over 700 strikes we had recently, it alarmed for only 5 — but was that just another bug? It has plenty of ads, which I don’t mind being that this is the free ve

Only thing I don’t like are ads. If you are in a storm or anything you shouldn’t have to look at an ad that has a tornado or anything like that. The ads are long too. Overall yes it’s helpful. I like its simplistic style. There isn’t too much on the map. There are different maps to see lightening and another one just to see where the storm is. It’s not trying to do too much badly. It’s doing all things well. The graphics are clear and accurate to weather too. A lot of other apps try to fit too much on one map. That hasn’t seemed as easy and clear to use. I’m not sure if they are as accurate.

Timely and private
Love this app because it allows you a ton of privacy. I allow notifications from this app because it doesn’t require “always” in the location services to work. Wherever I last opened the app, it sends notifications. I can choose the distance—when I am camping or hiking, I can choose a farther distance to give me time to find shelter. When I am at the local recreational park/playground, I can set it to a shorter distance so I only get alerts if it is truly a concern. For accuracy and privacy, this is the best app.

I like the app however it gives a lot of notifications during a storm which is ok but there’s no way to delete all of them at once. I have to manually delete sometimes 15 notifications if I haven’t been near my phone to delete them when they come in.

I love this app because I never get caught in the weather unaware that it’s coming. also, setting the app to make a thunder sound at every alert makes me smile any time it goes off.
one big improvement though would be to have the app allow a larger notification radius for lightning headed towards my location but a smaller one once the storm has passed. i don’t need to know about the lightning that just passed for the next hour but I really need to know what is headed towards me.

It’s a nice app. I use it a lot of the time. It would be nice if it could always show the radius that you put in instead of it being blank but still showing the lightning strikes. Otherwise it a good app.

Radar loading issue
The last few days the radar option either doesn't load at all or just small portion loads which has really reduced the effectiveness of this app as all you see is lightning strikes and where they are coming from and going to.

…but that might be some kind of misattribution bias because the app only does anything when there’s rain around and I love rain. This is probably a stupid thought, but I wish I could like and comment on individual lightning strikes. I dunno!
