RNLI lifeboats around the UK and Ireland are on call 24 hours a day, ready to respond to any emergency at sea.
With an average of 23 callouts a day, there's most likely a lifeboat out on a rescue right now.
You can use this unofficial app to keep up to date with your local station's launch, or for every station around the UK.
