Logged out often- OLD NEWS

Too often it’s NOT LIVE - it’s old news Great idea but POOR EXECUTION that stations don’t show LIVE often- I’ll check in at say 5:01 pm and it’s showing OLD NEWS Get logged out often and need to sign in again. Plus the commercials are 3X LOUDER than programming

Ad issue

Love the concept but the ads are always way too loud. My mom has dementia and they’re so loud it sends her spiraling they’re so much louder than the show. Not to mention it doesn’t remember my favorites. Always says it’s broken.

The gambling adds are excessive

In today’s society, with high costs and inflation of goods and everything else, we deserve an app in compliance with the times. I have been using News On for several years now and I have never witnessed such a push for wanting app users to gamble at this magnitude. I even feel victim to a casino game and lost monies as a result. These apps are damaging and the timing in do wrong and inconsiderate. It’s literally every add begging for you to download and lose monies bc they are certainly not handing and out. I simply want to watch my local news stations and tune in to the weather. If I want to

Does anyone running this app even know what platform this app is on?

NewsOn, an update to your Roku app is NOT breaking news, and breaks the entire interface. You're on Apple TV, and the breaking news banner shouldn't be notifying me to a download an update meant for another platform. Absolutely terrible navigation, no captions available, and streams just hard cut-off in the middle of breaking news because the app is hard-coded to end once a newscast ends. Beyond frustrating.

Local Channels Do Not Load

Been wanting to try this service on our AppleTV here in Seattle. The local channels do not load, only a spinning loading icon. We are using the latest AppleTV with all other apps working OK. We have also uninstalled/reinstalled the app, closed all background apps, and restarted our device. Hopefully, this will be resolved soon!

App works well for those of us that rely on streaming for our television. Great way to access local news. I have only one issue, and that is there is no way to set a default location. A favorite can be added, but having a station come up every time, as the user may want to see news from a different location, would be a great addition.

Updated format stinks

It was bad enough dealing with commercial breaks in the middle of a news story or weather report but NOW when watching on Roku you are unable to save your favorites and I have to search every time I watch. And after every half hour it cycles back to the previous newscast instead of moving forward with the current half hour of news. I’m done. It is easier to stream/cast from my local news app then it is to use News On.

Ads ruin the experience

I understand ads are required. I don’t understand the timing of them. There will be one ad playing over and over again. I could recite the ad on every commercial break. Then, like others have pointed out, the ads interrupt news segments. How are you going to prioritize advertising over the news? Either you are a news app or spam. I’m not going to use this app until this is fixed.

Started out well

At first I was happy to see my favorite news station was on the list. But watching lately has become more of a chore to pick out information. The end of every story cuts to a commercial. I haven’t heard the end of a story in a while. And now to my dismay there is a problem with having to watch a 3-5 second segment of video repeat for a few minutes until it freezes altogether. Great concept, frustrating to watch.

Guys! I’m trying to be patient with it because I understand there’s probably tech issues you’re still trying to work out. But I just sat here and watched about 10 minutes worth of commercials because the app could not get back to the live news program. So I gave up.

This app professes to show live television but what it shows is not live, only a recording. For instance KCRA in Sacramento, CA shows “live” but it’s a recording from 6am this morning. It is now 8am. This app does not do what it claims. What a waste of time!!

Loving it

This is the best news app in the store. I've tried others, but this one looks much better and is waaaaay easier to navigate (goodbye, Haystack!). I like how it offers weather since I'm constantly checking to see if it's raining/fog outside. They also offer sports, which isn't my jam, but my partner loves it! I just created an account and plan on downloading the Roku app so I can have it on my tv as well. Good stuff!
